Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

Lady at the window was nice and no attitude. They made me and 3 other cars pull up to wait for our food and do that every single time i’ve ever been to this location. Lady who brought out my food on the other hand was so rude and was just asking us if we had 4 meals. And when i asked what kind of meals she goes um 4 meals do you have 4 meals? I asked what meals they were and she looks at the bag and then back at me and says 4 meals again!!! and asked if it was me and i said maybe what’s in the meals and she responds. In conclusion I had 3 meals and one burger and they forgot my drink which i had to ask for after receiving me food. The lady looked at me crazy and the car that was waiting infront of me who was waiting before i even pulled up when i said “maybe what in the meals?”, like i was the one saying “4meals” when i only had 3. Honestly so rude of her to even look at me crazy when i asked what meals were in the bag. Acting like I'm supposed to just know that it was my bag. I had three meals a burger.

On your menu under the Kids section, there is a “Justaburger Meal,” which is exactly what I requested multiple times while placing my order. Unfortunately, my order was incorrect because the cashier appeared to be rushing instead of actively listening. Having worked in customer service for over 12 years, I understand that listening is one of the most important parts of providing exceptional service. I had a feeling my order had been entered incorrectly, so before leaving the drive-thru, I asked the cashier to repeat it back to me. As expected, it was wrong, and I had to have her correct it. Instead of taking accountability, the cook became upset because he had to remake my order due to the cashier’s mistake. The food runner, however, was the only employee who demonstrated professionalism and good customer service. After being asked to pull forward to wait for my food, I realized I had been given a Prickly Pear Refresher instead of the Summer Peach Refresher I ordered. Once again, the food runner corrected another mistake. When I walked inside the restaurant, I overheard the cashier discussing the situation with other employees while the manager on duty entertained the conversation. The negative comments stopped only after they noticed I had entered the restaurant. While waiting, I also observed pieces of chicken sitting uncovered on the metal preparation line, which I found to be very unsanitary. Because I am pregnant, I watched my food being prepared closely. The only reason I did not request a refund was because I was hungry and simply wanted the correct meal. What was even more disappointing was hearing comments such as, “It’s a lot of kids’ orders; these parents need to start cooking at home.” Hearing a manager make remarks like that about customers is completely unprofessional and disrespectful. As a paying customer, my business is what helps keep businesses operating and employees working. In return, I expect to receive courteous, attentive, and professional service. If someone is unhappy in their position, that frustration should never be taken out on customers. My experience should not be negatively affected because an employee is dissatisfied with their job. To make matters worse, I requested onion rings with all three meals and received fries instead. At that point, it felt like mistake after mistake. If the same energy that was spent making negative comments about customers had been directed toward listening carefully and ensuring orders were accurate, my experience could have easily been a 10 out of 10. For context, I’m a banker. I work hard for my income and can certainly afford to provide meals for my family and maintain my home. Comments suggesting that parents should “cook at home” were not only unprofessional but also inappropriate. How I choose to spend the money I earn is my decision, and no customer should be judged for choosing to eat at your restaurant. Based on this experience, I would never recommend the Whataburger on Bert Kouns. I also have photos documenting the uncovered food sitting on the preparation line to support my concerns.

The food was unclean and the service was slow. I will report this. There is no attention paid to the food preparation.
