Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Cashier "preacher" is an awesome guy. The employees are very nice. The problem is it's $11 for a single burger. I understand you have to pay expenses but the customer has the option to spend either $5 for a tiny burger with barely any meat on it or $11 for a burger with a little more meat on it.
Then if you want an actual substantial amount of the part that will actually make you feel full, you have to add $4 to the price for just another patty. Get real. Anyone who sees the prices of fast food now and thinks that's tolerable need to wake up and start cooking their own food and bringing it.
The price we pay for convenience has gone too far.

I usually enjoy Whataburger, but today my burger was so completely saturated with both mustard and ketchup, that was all I could taste. It was a yucky mess.

I have eaten take out a few times from here and it was always good but the last time I went I had the honey butter boneless chicken wings. Other times that I ate there I got burgers and had no problems. The boneless wings did not taste fresh but I thought the sauce was delicious. A few hours after eating it I got really sick. My daughter got the same thing and she got sick too. She had eaten the same thing from there previously and gotten sick but didn’t link it to the food until it happened a second time. Then, a third inciden- my son got chicken strips from there and got sick as well. I cannot prove that this is what made us sick but I did some research and there have been complaints from different locations about the boneless wings and the chicken sandwiches making people sick. In particular, most of the complaints involved chicken and the honey butter and also the honey bbq sauce.
