So y’all I'm NOLA born. Miss River nails it. Not just New Orleans, but Louisiana. All the classics, starting with crackers and butter a Louisiana staple, with a twist they’re fried in butter. The best red beans I evah had, and that includes mine. Redfish court boullion, it’s like bouillabaisse but better. Yeah I said it. Crab au gratin straight from heaven. Sweet potato brioche, that’s a new classic. And it’s a keeper. Beignets? Taken to the next level. Brioche again. And a whole fried chicken? You know, like a lil fried turkey. Yep. The best drinks in town. And of course, old school baked Alaska. Add service with southern smiles and you know you found a winner. When I visit, I always leave smiling. You will be too. 🎆
If you are a foodie this not for you. The brunch was a buffet for $95. With random options. Very small selection. Example on buffet had pancake station with small salad bowl and raw oysters and shrimp. The biscuits are hard as a rock. Duck and Andouille gumbo had more scallions then any meat. Shrimp and Grit just don't get it.

We chose Miss River at the Four Seasons to celebrate Mother’s Day with my wife, kids, and mother — a special occasion that deserved a special setting. The food truly delivered. Every dish was outstanding, and we had zero complaints on that front. The kitchen clearly knows what it’s doing.
Unfortunately, the service fell well short of what you’d expect from a restaurant charging $100+ per person.
It started before we even ordered — the floor beneath our table was noticeably dirty and should have been cleaned before seating guests. From there, the service struggles continued. We placed our drink orders early in the meal, then gave our appetizer order 5–10 minutes later. We finished our appetizers entirely before a single drink arrived at the table — including the kids’ Sprites. I had to flag down our waiter just to find out where they were.
The food came out quickly, which was appreciated, but by then I’d already finished my drink. With a table of six, not one of us was offered a second round. Later, my wife ordered a glass of champagne with dessert — and again, I had to chase it down myself when we were nearly finished eating.
At this price point, anticipating guests’ needs isn’t a bonus — it’s the baseline. Having to repeatedly ask for things that should come naturally made what should have been a memorable celebration feel like a chore.
This seems to be a recurring theme across this chef’s restaurants, which is a real shame given how talented the kitchen clearly is. We wanted to love it, and the food gave us every reason to — but the service made it hard to say we’d rush back.
It is in the Four Seasons and had live old school NOLA music which I liked. Ordered Crab Au Gratin. It said MP but I did not question. It was very good but was a small portion. Luckily I ordered praline bacon as a side which was a good choice. The price tag of 55 for a fairly small bowl of crab was a but surprising...
First day of jazz fest, we were very happy that there was a table available for us. Greeted by a friendly hostess in a lovely restaurant, we were excited for a great meal.
Our server Matt was terrific - describing dishes not only in terms of how they are prepared and served, also adding comments on portion size that I found very helpful in decision making.
A delicious wine and the bread (whoa!) to start. Duck & Andouille Gumbo was the best gumbo I've had yet. And the Redfish Courtbouillon was delicious.
Really appreciated Matt's input on music outside of jazz fest! Bought tickets to 2 shows and will be seeing a few more thanks to his recommendations.
