We visited from out of town and Gemini suggested this place because we want restaurants with live jazz bands. It’s indeed the first meal we have in town so we were full of anticipation. When we entered, the restaurant was crowded but not super packed and a band was playing…nice~ The server asked us if we had a reservation and I told her no. She said it was fine then proceed to walk us inside the restaurant further and further away from the band. We ended up being seated in front of the kitchen/restroom and cannot see any band but we saw many empty table though. Our server came and I ordered a few appetizers and dishes. We had 4 people and we ordered a total of 4 dishes to share and the server seemed unhappy about that despite our next table only had one appetizer for two people. The food came and we really enjoyed the raw oyster. The fried alligator was good but nothing special. The New Orleans Trio was a mixed experience with Shrimp and Grits was good, the Jambalaya Orleans and Louisiana Crawfish Étouffée were salty. Chicken and Sausage Gumbo was also salty. We also ordered Creole Cream Cheesecake for dessert and it was good. The price was reasonable and I gave standard tips. The server didn’t even say thank you and just look at us with cold face. Man…I tried hard not to think this had anything with us being Asian but really difficult to convince myself otherwise

Nothing was wrong about this spot. Food was delicious. I had the delicious Decatur St. Burger made exactly as I wanted it. My wife had the New Orleans Trio which she loved! We both shared the fried alligator, which surprisingly we enjoyed. The beer they have is made in-house very good! . The live jazz music was soothing and fun. Our waiter was polite, patient and knowledgeable (Robert). The Atmosphere was like an old medieval pub with class and shiekness. Anytime we're back in New Orleans this is our new go-to spot now.
