About

Cafe
Our coffee is sourced locally from roasters with over 30 years of experience roasting their own blends. Café Beignet is proud to continue the tradition of serving Chicory Coffee, first introduced by the French to New Orleans when it was still a colony of France. Chicory is a plant that is roasted through a similar process as coffee beans. Coffee and chicory are grounded separately and then combined, resulting in a most unique taste. New Orleanians have developed a love for its bolder flavor and we hope you will too! Since 1990, Café Beignet has four locations in the French Quarter with another on the way. Each of our locations offers something unique to its visitors, including live jazz, cocktails, outdoor seating (with pet friendly areas), and classic New Orleans dishes to complement our beignets. With an abundance of local flavors, you will find only the best in food and drinks at Café Beignet!

I would sooner eat ran over nutria before ever stepping foot here again. Service was fine and the atmosphere was pleasant. The food was clearly frozen mass produced food that you would find at Popeyes or Long John Silvers. The shrimp was the size of my fingernail and the poboy bread was stale. The fact that there’s multiple locations pandering to tourists is disgusting. If you’re going to be a New Orleans establishment then show some damn pride and cook like you’re from New Orleans!!!! Never going back and making sure every single family member is aware of y’all’s audacity to continue gentrifying our home with your chinese imported ingredients and overpriced menu.

Super yummy beignets with a few flavor options. I got the classic with hot coffee and it was perfect. Patio is beautiful but the fans do blow the powdered sugar a little bit. No wait time on a weekday at 8:30am. Peaceful atmosphere even though it’s a busy area.

Café Beignet has exactly the kind of atmosphere you hope to find in New Orleans, relaxed, a little chaotic, full of music, sugar, and people enjoying themselves. Sitting there with fresh beignets and coffee while jazz played nearby felt less like a tourist stop and more like becoming part of the street’s rhythm for a while.

Loved stopping by Cafe Beignet, Royal Street while exploring the French Quarter. The beignets came out hot, fluffy, and covered in powdered sugar, and the chicory café au lait really completed the New Orleans experience. The courtyard seating and live jazz music gave it such a charming atmosphere too. A great place to sit, relax, and enjoy a classic New Orleans treat.

We came here in hopes of experiencing beignets in New Orleans for my first time and boy was that a journey. The woman behind the counter had to have been mad at the beignets, they must have personally offended her in some way because she was unpleasant at best. We got one order of traditional beignets and a white chocolate au lait. The traditional beignets were undercooked and super doughy in the center and the woman behind the counter put a ridiculous amount of white chocolate flavored syrup in the cafe au lait to the point that it was horribly sweet and not able to be consumed. Such a disappointment and what a shame, I was really looking forward to experiencing cafe beignet and was just completely let down.
