  Britney was awesome! We had such a great experience thanks to our her! She was super friendly and made sure we always had drinks and chips. The service was quick, and the food was delicious. Definitely one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had — I’ll be coming back.

  First time at Tacos del Cartel and it did not disappoint. The food was great, the drinks were amazing, and the service from Cooper was excellent. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to!

  We went on Sunday (Father’s Day) afternoon to watch one of of the World Cup game at the bar. Paola was our waitress at the bar and she was very friendly, very knowledgeable and helpful. We enjoyed the visit. Gracias Paola por su servicio. (David y Marisol)

  Don’t bother with this overpriced, underflavored, not-even-remotely-Mexican food. The huevos rancheros had no tortillas or beans (sent it back and they wanted to charge us); I ordered a latte with coconut milk (they said they don’t ever have coconut milk even though it’s on the menu); I ordered a hot tea with sugar instead (she brought Stevia); I asked for no cheese and beans came out covered…it was just a dud all around. Waitress was sweet but terrible. Don’t waste your time or money.

  This place is like the Taco Bell of Mexican food compared to other great Mexican restaurants in Baton Rouge. Sorry, not sorry, but you’re 100% paying for the atmosphere. As someone who LOVES Mexican food, don’t expect much taste wise. The atmosphere and the drinks are probably some of the best things this place has going for them. The service is almost ALWAYS a hit or miss. I have been here three times already (the first time I came alone because I wanted to try a new restaurant and the other two times I was invited) and out of those three times I have only had one server that was very tentative, extremely polite, and seemed like he actually cared to be there. I really wish I can remember his name, but this was several months ago. The most I can remember is he was a dental assistant who was in school for nursing. He was awesome and I hope he’s doing well. With that being said the service needs to be better. Table checks should be done at least 1 minute after food has been dropped off. There’s no way my friends and I should be sitting and waiting over 5-10 minutes (I’m not exaggerating) to drop ONE check off to the table once we’re ready to go and plates had already been picked up. Overall with my experience here, the tentativeness just needs to be better! As someone who used to serve for years, I understand being busy can play a huge role in quality of service sometimes, but I also know when it doesn’t… If you’re looking for a good atmosphere or aesthetic this is your place! But the food and service is a hit or miss, which is why I compared it to Taco Bell. Some people love the taste of the low quality food and others don’t. Sometimes you’ll get great service and sometimes you won’t. Overall, I just don’t think this place is worth the prices they charge and the service needs to be better. There’s better places like Mis Antojitos Jarochos Food Truck or Los Compadre's Taco Truck (this one also has a restaurant) if you’re looking for affordable Mexican food that actually tastes good too. There’s so many other great options out there. This is not my top pick.
