Bistro 121! What a great way to spend an afternoon. Italian with a twist. Burgers. Fish. Salads. Pasta. Pizza. Cooked in a brick oven. Any way you want it. Old school meatloaf and beef tips and grits? Yep!!! The food is simply delicious. So is the play list. The service is stellar. The hours are amazing. 11:00-9:00 every day but Sunday. The bar is where they shine, I’m from NOLA and I feel right at home here. Solid wine & drinks list. And bar keeps who will make it your way. Behold, a naked old fashioned, cause bourbon hates me. So why not vodka? Off the charts. Thanks Page. It’s amazing. So is Bistro 121 🥃

Everything about this restaurant is exceptional. Location, staff, menu, food quality, it's all top tier. Lamb lollipops are to die for. Crab cake in diavolo sauce is phenomenal. Meatloaf is exquisite (yes, meatloaf). Lasagna that could topple an empire. Steak that came with a lemon butter sauce (the one i chose out of four samples of sauces) that i didn't even eat with the sauce, because it was that good. Crawfish macaroni and cheese ... you get the point. The staff was helpful, patient, kind, and prompt. Everything you'd expect and more. The atmosphere is kind and relaxing. Perfect lighting. The wine selection is good, filled with quality wines and staff that can help you decide what to pair. It's also worth noting the blueberry lemon drop martini is delicious and dangerous. If you get the opportunity to dine here, for the love of all that is sacred do not pass it up. Thank me later.

Alaina was a wonderful server and was very attentive. We only order calamari fritter for appetizers and that was good. However, a bit too much batter in my opinion but my kids loved it. For main course, we weren't that hungry so ordered shrimp Alfredo pasta and pizza. Kids didn't like the shrimp and I could see why. It had a very strong odor to it like it's been sitting out for awhile. The pasta noodles were very thin so that was good. Kids really enjoyed the pasta. The pizza was a bit soggy towards the middle and felt that the cheese wasn't enough so this wasn't the best pizza I've had. Desserts we order banana bread pudding and tiramisu. MENU STATES TIRAMISU AS $10 but when you pay, it's listed as $14. Alaina asked the manager and manager said they forgot to update the menu and if I want, I can talk to her. At that point, I didn't even care to fight it but it's the integrity or how the manager didn't come out to talk about it herself. At least tape the prices if you don't want to print a new menu 😏 the tiramisu had good espresso flavoring to it. Honestly paired with the bread pudding was pretty good. The bread pudding needs ice cream to balance it out. Also CLEAN THE CEILING VENTS!! For such a nice looking place, the ceiling / vents were extremely dirty.

The ribeye steak was fantastic — one of the best I’ve had anywhere in Lakecharles. Perfect heavy sear on the outside with a beautifully warm pink center. Paired with wine and truly wonderful staff, the whole experience was outstanding. Great service and amazing food all around.

Yesterday, my Dad picked me up from work and told me he was starving and specifically craving Italian... I absolutely refuse to spend my money at Olive Garden just to be dissatisfied by the end of our meal, so after a quick google search of Italian restaurants in Lake Charles, we discovered 121 Artisan Bistro. After a short cruise down Michael Debakey, we pulled into the restaurant parking lot, which we found spacious, easy to navigate and found a spot with no trouble. Walking up to the front door, I was quite pleased with the garden decor and layout; you can tell it has been well taken care of in this Louisiana heat. We were greeted warmly by the Host and Hostess who offered us a table, but we decided to choose a spot at the Bar, where we met Nitra. Nitra's kind and warm personality, as well as her mixology skills and knowledge of my father's weakness: Quality Tequila... made our time quite enjoyable. We had noticed, looking around, that there was a large variety of different personalities and backgrounds enjoying their meals. Every patron was smiling, laughing, and just all around enjoying the welcoming atmosphere. The warm, fluffy bread and vinegrette was a lovely treat as we perused the menu and drink list. We chose a double patron margarita and a blueberry lemon drop martini to begin with; both were garnished perfectly as we waited for our food. We chose a traditional angel hair pasta with red sauce and generous portions of meatballs for Dad, while I ordered Nonna's Lasagna... both of which were rich, comforting, beautifully plated, and so filling that we required to-go boxes. All in all, our experience at 121 Artisan Bistro was nothing but pleasant and we will definitely be back for future visits. Dad even called and informed my Boyfriend after we left, that he simply must take me to 121 again for a future date night. Nitra had also informed us about the private dining room used for catered events, which I would definitely love to book for event's with family and friends later on. Good job, 121. We'll see you soon for dinner again.
