I frequently travel from Lafayette, Louisiana, to Monroe, Louisiana, which is about a 2-hour and 49-minute drive. Every now and then, I like to stop at this Sonic for a burger. Unfortunately, my last two visits have been very disappointing.
On both occasions, the customer service was poor, and the food quality was far below what I have come to expect from Sonic. The burgers were served cold, the cheese wasn't melted, and the sandwiches tasted as though they had been cooked much earlier and simply reheated or left sitting until they were served. One of the things I usually enjoy about Sonic is receiving a hot, freshly made burger with melted cheese that tastes homemade. That was not the experience at this location.
Additionally, my order was carelessly packaged. The bag containing my tater tots and chicken tenders was handed to me upside down, causing the food to be scattered throughout the bag. This reflects a lack of attention to detail and quality control.
I believe the owner or management should seriously consider retraining the staff on customer service, food preparation standards, and proper packaging of orders. Consistency and quality are what keep customers coming back. If these issues continue, I believe this location risks losing loyal customers and could ultimately struggle to remain in business.
