February 17, 2026 I attended for lunch and had the WORSE experience. The manager assured me someone would follow up and never did. I also emailed the manager Derrick stating:
“Upon arriving at the restaurant at approximately 2:10 PM for lunch, I was greeted by an unpleasant rancid odor. I promptly informed my waiter, Michael, of this issue. Another customer corroborated my observation and inquired about the presence of a grease trap. Michael assured me that he did not detect any odor.
Michael proceeded to serve me at the bar, where he provided me with an infused peach mango tea with lemon juice. He inquired about my preference for complementary bread, to which I responded affirmatively.
Michael then ventured to the kitchen to retrieve the bread. Upon his return, he confirmed the presence of the odor I had mentioned, describing it as resembling sewer. I confirmed the accuracy of his assessment.
Michael presented me with the bread, and I indicated my readiness to place my order. I requested the Wagon Boss Center Cut Top Sirloin, accompanied by mashed potatoes and a house salad.
Upon receiving the house salad, I informed Michael that I was unable to consume iceberg and romaine lettuce due to my digestive system. I kindly requested spinach as an alternative. The original salad had iceberg, lettuce, romaine lettuce, croutons, cheese, and balsamic vinegar dressing with bacon bits on the side.
Michael processed the order and retrieved the salad from the kitchen. Upon presenting the correct salad, it contained spinach, cheese, and croutons, accompanied by balsamic vinaigrette and bacon bits on the side.
I observed small pieces within the balsamic vinaigrette, leading me to suspect a potential change in the restaurant’s recipe. Consequently, I poured approximately three-quarters of the balsamic vinegar dressing over the salad.
After consuming approximately three to five bites, the steak and potatoes were brought out. Michael apologize for the food coming out with the salad and I assured him it was not an issue. However, the steak was not at the desired temperature. I requested that it be cooked to medium, but the steak was instead served well done. Michael promptly retrieved the steak and I resumed my consumption of the salad.
In an attempt to limit my cheese consumption, I inadvertently pushed it aside, where I discovered a roach in the salad, as depicted in the accompanying photograph. Subsequently, I poured the remaining dressing onto a plate and noticed additional insect fragments.
This discovery caused me to experience nausea, disgust, confusion, and anxiety. I promptly informed Michael, who was approaching the bar, and he subsequently informed you.
Upon your arrival at the bar, you informed me that you had heard about the insect issue. I inquired whether you had witnessed the incident firsthand or if Michael had shown you. You confirmed that you had observed the situation and would address my meal.
I informed you that I was no longer inclined to eat and requested your professional insurance coverage for the restaurant. However, you informed me that you lacked access to such coverage.
Derrick, it is not advisable to consume insects, particularly rodents that can harbor diseases. Since this incident, I have experienced two instances of vomiting and am currently hospitalized.”
I waited 90 days before doing a negative review thinking they’d follow up as they advised they would.
