I tried finding good crabs around Gonzales & no one had anything good . I went to Tony’s & had such a great experience . Even though there’s 30 people or more I saw working , after over hearing me talk to cashier because I came for large crabs & there was no up he personally came out & went told staff members to get the next batch up & I got a dozen & a half of beautiful all full well seasoned perfect . Thank Tony’s again , I’ll be back every week thru crab season you have a loyal customer.
I'm a Baton Rouge native and when I say I was looking forward to my Tony's meal! Sadly the quality and taste have gone way down. I couldn't even get fresh fish to cook because the tank was closed. Smh that a bad business move to close the tank during the summer and not winter. But hey I don't own the business and after ordering 50.00 worth of food. Everything was too salty and lack flavor. I ordered 24 Boudin balls. The seafood ones were fishy and the rice ones had no flavor what so ever. Needles to say I won't be back and if you find a better option. Go there.
I grown to love Tony's for reasons beyond the food. This is a well oiled business, they have there operations down to a T. As I purchased fresh fish and a hot plate, I noticed the work flow that was established. Tony's has been in business for many years and I know they will continue to thrive for more generations to come.
The fresh fish and seafood is fresh. The staff package my fish in a cooler and it remained fresh and cold my entire trip. The hot food was very good. Even though the lines are long and you may be in the wrong line if you want boudin, it's worth the wait. I will continue to go back for more.
It doesn't matter what brings someone to Baton Rouge, they all go to the legendary Tony's because of the consistency and quality. Bravo!

We always get a box of fried catfish & a box of fries for the 3 of us. Its so much we can share. Its so good. Its always super busy so dont go if you get overwhelmed easily! Also... if you get in the line for a DELI PLATE be ready to order because the ladies serving will basically eat you alive!!! Looking crazy and all. If you can't handle that type of attitude send someone else that can! I know how to handle them with a long handle spoon. Lolol..
I had a very disappointing experience at Tony’s Seafood in Baton Rouge.
When I walked in, no one greeted me. There were several employees standing behind the seafood counter and registers, but instead of helping customers, they were gathered in conversations with each other. I walked back and forth in front of the cold seafood case for several minutes, clearly looking for assistance, and not a single employee asked if I needed help or what I was looking for.
Ironically, the only person who acknowledged me was the security guard as I was walking out the door. He was kind enough to stop me and personally take me back to the seafood counter to get assistance. Unfortunately, the young employee he brought me to acted like he didn’t want to help. He wouldn’t make eye contact, barely spoke, and mumbled so quietly that I could hardly understand him. The lack of professionalism and basic customer service was honestly confusing.
At that point, I simply said, “Thank you,” and left.
Customer service starts with acknowledging people when they walk through the door. Greeting customers, offering assistance, and communicating clearly are the bare minimum in any retail business. The security guard was the only person who made me feel welcome, which says a lot.
Based on this experience, I won’t be returning.
