My steak and chicken dinner here was amazing. The meat was so tender, juicy and delicious! Had a lot of fun with friends with the murder mystery. I was unable to solve most of the clues, but that didn't stop me from having a great time.

Where do I even begin… because apparently solving the murder wasn’t the only mystery of the evening. The other mystery was how this was considered a $58-per-person experience. This is long, I apologize but I had a lot to say and feel that it needs to be shared. We arrived about 10 minutes late and were greeted by the host, who asked us if we were “sharp.” Cute. I understand humor is part of the experience, although my husband wasn’t particularly amused. In hindsight, that may have been the most interactive part of the evening. Let’s talk about the food! For $58, I wasn’t expecting a five-star culinary experience, but I did expect more than what we were served. The dinner consisted of salad, rolls, green beans, mashed potatoes, chicken with white gravy, and beef. The food was… fine. “Mid” would be generous, but it was edible. And then came dessert: we were told we’d be served a piece of cake from the previous night’s wedding at the venue next door. Yes. You read that correctly. Nothing says “special evening out” quite like being informed that your $58 dinner comes with yesterday’s wedding leftovers. Maybe it was fresh. Maybe it wasn’t. Honestly, I don’t know. But announcing it certainly wasn’t the confidence inspiring dessert presentation I was hoping for. Now for the main event: THE MURDER MYSTERY. (You know, the reason we actually paid $58 to be there.) The murder mystery doesn’t start until AFTER everyone has eaten. Then each volunteer participant reads approximately one or two sentences. Each table receives a sheet of paper. On that sheet are the three clues. And… that’s pretty much the mystery. Approximately 30 minutes later, congratulations! You’ve solved the murder. If you’ve ever attended an actual immersive murder mystery dinner, you know what I mean when I say this was… different. There was no character development. No real interaction. No questioning suspects. No investigating. No wandering around trying to figure out who is lying. No opportunity to actually engage with the characters. Instead, you basically sit there while people read their one or two lines and then look at your paper containing the “clues.” Apparently, you’re also not supposed to think too hard about anything. If you tried to question inconsistencies or actually investigate the mystery beyond the three clues provided, the host seemed less than thrilled. (I’m thinking it’s because we caught onto her poor storyline) And then there was the repeated use of the word “horny” when referring to the supposed teenage prom attendees in the storyline. Because nothing makes a murder mystery more comfortable than an elderly host repeatedly making sexual comments about teenage characters. But hey, maybe that’s the immersive experience we were missing. If your idea of a murder mystery dinner is: • Eat dinner • Listen to a handful of people read a sentence or two • Receive three clues on a piece of paper • Guess who did it • Go home …then congratulations. You may have found your event. If you’ve attended murder mysteries where the story unfolds throughout the evening, characters actually interact with guests, suspects can be questioned, clues are discovered, and you genuinely feel like you’re part of the investigation, prepare to be profoundly disappointed. Essentially, we went expecting an interactive murder mystery and got what felt like a 30-minute table-reading attached to a mediocre dinner. At $58 per person, I expected an experience. Instead, the biggest mystery of the night was how this particular event managed to be marketed as a murder mystery dinner.
