TLDR: One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a Subway. If you enjoy overpaying for poorly made food prepared by employees who would rather scroll TikTok than do their job, this is the place for you!!
(P.S. This is actually my first time ever leaving a restaurant review, but the experience was bad enough that I felt the need to warn people about this specific location.)
I walked in Monday evening (5/11/26) and the restaurant was completely empty except for two employees, one guy and one girl, who both looked like high schoolers and seemed completely uninterested in working. I get it, I’ve worked my share of dead-end food jobs too, so I tried to give some grace and keep my expectations low since I always I order the most basic sandwich imaginable: a turkey footlong on wheat, a few veggies, and some sauce.
I’m standing in line (alone) waiting to be served, and mid-conversation with his coworker the guy finally asks what I want, I tell him, he grabs the wrong bread (I let it slide smh), then asks me AGAIN what kind of sandwich I ordered after already cutting the bread open. I repeat myself.
He then spends the next five minutes (not exaggerating) placing FOUR individual slices of turkey onto my footlong while continuing to gossip with his coworker the entire time. Honestly, it looked like the first sandwich he had ever made in his life, not even just at Subway. It was like watching a newborn deer learn to walk, I couldn’t help but feel bad that someone struggled this much with adding turkey slices to bread. I probably should’ve said something multiple times during this process, but I kept trying to be patient. Who knows, it could've been his first day.
For context, I understand portion control and store policy, but four slices of turkey on a footlong is ridiculous. I order the same sandwich from other Subway locations all the time and have never seen portions and presentation this bad.
At this point, I’ve been standing there for 5–7 minutes just watching him continue his conversation with his coworker while my sandwich sits unfinished on the counter. Eventually he asks which toppings I’d like, and somehow he managed not to mess up! I thought I was finally in the clear and could go home to eat my overpriced, undersized sandwich in peace.
Then we get to the register.
This man asks me if I want my sandwich in a bag… as opposed to just handing me a loosely wrapped footlong with no seal or anything? I genuinely thought he was joking. He wasn’t. I had to tell him, “Yeah, put it in a bag.”
After already waiting 10+ minutes for a basic sandwich, he makes a comment about the payment screen then asks if I’d like to leave a tip. Absolutely not!!
I get home, question every decision that led me there, and reluctantly eat the flattest, most meatless sandwich I’ve ever gotten from a sub shop. I should’ve just walked out the moment I realized I was about to overpay for this disaster.
Never spending money here again. If you have the option, I suggest you save yourself the time and frustration and just go to the Taco Bell or McDonald’s that’s across the street instead (they are fantastic), or at the very least, find any other subway on the planet to spend your money at. It’s one thing to be new and not know all the protocols, but this was not the case. Wish they hire some adults who can actually manage and oversee these kinds of things but I guess this is the state of Subway in 2026.
