I mean it's not a 5 star gourmet seafood restaurant nor is the seafood fresh from the sea but its a great representation of what it would be like to eat at a little local surf shop dive bar crab shack right on the pier. Our server was fantastic. Management gave me a 15% Veterans discount and the food was good. I especially enjoyed the flavor of the lobster tail. My favorite was the crab dip and crab balls in the sampler appetizer. It is nice to sit on the Ohio River. My family enjoyed the crab boil.

Never got to try Joe’s when it was in IL. so figured now is our chance. Saturday night got seated with a party of 7 within 10 min. Pretty busy overall with a few fumbles to our table, but understood with the chaos. Food was good and everyone else at our table liked their dishes and appetizers.

My son has just returned from Dubai and he wanted to take me to Joe's Crab shack it had been 7 years since we had been there and the first time we went to food the service all was excellent but I must say upon arriving there were few people there not many at all and I thought that kind of strange because the times before we had gone it was very crowded well when they brought the food out to us I realized why the place wasn't so full anymore I ordered the lobster which is what I always have gotten there and until this time it had been very good oh my God I can't believe what they brought me it was like rubber so I sent it back and told him it was too overcooked for me to even eat the second one they brought me wasn't any better even worse I might add so I ended up eating nothing my son got the crab legs because he loves crab legs and overdone as well and my daughter have the same as him I ended up eating two ears of corn on the cob and ask for some butter they bring me some water from the crab leg pot I'm sure there wasn't a bit of butter in it!!.. It actually looked like toilet water it actually look like toilet paper floating around..no butter in it at all. SO I requested again to have some real butter for my corn because that's all I was going to eat finally they brought me some real butter I was so disappointed with this place I do not recommend it.. we spent over $150 for three people to eat & no drinks just( sweet tea )because I couldn't even eat mine that's including the tip God bless my son for taking me there and I'm sorry I wasn't satisfied with my meal, but it's not your fault you did your best and that's all that matters I love you son and thank you. THIS place is horrible do not go there! Especially not recommended if you're trying to make any kind of memories 😥

We arrived at 7pm with no wait. We chose to sit outside for the sunset. We ordered calamari for our appetizer. It was good, but didn't care for the fried carrots. Our strawberry daiquiri and pina colada were delicious! I ordered the crab and shrimp pasta for my meal. It tasted good. My husband ordered the steak and shrimp with mashed potatoes and asparagus. He thought it was great. We tried the chocolate cake with roasted marshmallows, graham crackers and Hershey. It was warm and rich. We enjoyed all of the items we ordered. The American Heritage was docked next to the restaurant. We also saw barges and the Belle of Louisville. Our waitress was Makayla, she did a fantastic job. The parking was limited so we parked at the end toward the dumpster to get one of the last spots in the right parking lot. There were two birthdays when we went so the people wore a crab outfit and everyone sung. We had a great experience.
