Extremely Disappointing Experience I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately my experience was awful from the moment I walked in. I was not greeted, instead, I was immediately asked, “What do you want?” I explained that I had never been there before and needed a minute to look at the menu. Rather than offering any suggestions or even simply saying to let them know if I had questions, the employee just walked away. When I was ready to order, I asked if they had coffee. Instead of explaining the options or pointing me toward a menu, she simply pointed at another employee and said, “She can get you coffee.” The entire interaction felt extremely dismissive and unwelcoming. Unfortunately, the food was even more disappointing. I ordered the Pastrami East Coast Bagel, and it was honestly inedible. The bagel had an awful, stale, almost cardboard-like texture, and the pastrami and egg were barely warm more lukewarm than actually heated. It tasted like something that had been sitting around rather than something freshly prepared. I completely understand that not every meal is going to be perfect, but when you combine poor customer service with food that is genuinely unpleasant to eat, it makes it very difficult to justify coming back. I left feeling like my business was an inconvenience rather than something they appreciated. Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience for me, and I would not return based on either the food or the service.

Placed an order over the phone the day before for 2 dozen bagels and 4 tubs of cream cheese. Got there after the time the order was supposed to be ready, then it wasn’t. Got attitude from the employee about not ordering the “correct” way and how phone orders were no longer allowed, even though the employee took the order no problems asked… Online only gives the catering, with no substitutions available. If you switch your ordering ways, please make it more available/know. outside of a qr code in store…

I’m giving this a two star review because I think one is just plain mean — but that would reflect how I was treated this morning I suppose. I’m not one to leave reviews, but given this situation I felt like it was necessary for anyone that has any dietary restrictions or allergies. I have a severe nut allergy, which a lot of the time, means not eating at places that have high cross contamination surfaces or utensils. I am VERY patient and understanding that asking to be accommodated with a severe allergy is a risk that not all businesses are willing to take. Which is fine! There are signs that clearly display the risk of cross-contamination for those with nut allergies…perfect! I did not realize that this actually meant ‘do not eat here’. I am very cautious in bagel shops and bakeries to avoid cross contamination. I saw this sign and decided it was in my best interest just to order a bagel with no accoutrements as to make this process as easy and safe as possible. The very kind worker even offered to change her gloves which was so thoughtful to ensure I could still eat here comfortably. I never expect places to bend to my needs. I want to fly under the radar and be as low maintenance as possible — with that being said, I always still ask if there are separate cream cheeses that are prepackaged or simple accommodations that can be made (a new knife or separate tub) — always understanding that the answer may be no. Instead of receiving a simple ‘no, if you are high risk, we recommend not getting any cream cheese’ I was told very rudely by the man working (who wasn’t even taking my order mind you) ‘if you’re that worried that you probably shouldn’t even be here’. I was stunned. My friend was stunned. The girl helping me looked extremely uncomfortable. Again, I was simply asking. I was very okay with being told no. But for my business to be rejected over something that could’ve been politely communicated was appalling. I have never had a business fail to adjust to my needs, let alone rudely convey they aren’t interested in trying. It was very uncomfortable situation and vibe for everyone involved. My hope in posting this is to not be accommodated (though, that would be nice for one of the three most common allergens) but to simply share that if you have allergies or dietary restrictions, this business has clearly shared that they are not interested in yours.
