  We were referred by a local and so thankful we tried it. The food was perfect; tender and moist. We ordered the 3 meat plate (brisket, chicken, and pulled pork) with 2 sides and 2 corn muffins. This one plate fed the two of us. There were 8 different types of sauce on the table, i sampled them all. The mac and cheese is better than Gordon Ramsey steakhouse.

  We drove an hour from Northern Kentucky after having wanting to come down here for about the last year and it was a fantastic decision. The prices were very reasonable, the food was great, and the employees were first rate friendly and professional. We will be back again for sure and next time with friends or family so we can share the place with others. If you're looking for a quick and tasty lunch near Georgetown, this is the place to come. Look for Willie Nelson on the blinds by the sweet tea and you'll see me 😁

  Great casual vibe and even better BBQ! I had the ribs which are so popular that they were almost gone by 5:30pm (Fridays have special rib deals so they can run out!) I also had the twice smoked high fat brisket which was epic and easily the best brisket I’ve ever had. Super close to the #kentuckyhorsepark if you’re visiting. Highly recommend!

  I'm from Chicago and have had the luck to come here many times over the last 10 years when we're at UK and in Lex. Have to say I'm so glad Red State is not around the block from our home otherwise I would become addicted! What a treat tonight, just love what y'all do see ya later this Summer! From the bread pudding to the Brisket it's all so well done!

  ​"I’m writing this review as a warning to other diners regarding a recent carry-out experience. We ordered a $75 meal for 3 people, and the experience was poor from start to finish. ​Multiple items were missing from our order, including a side and all of our drinks. The restaurant was out of ribs and substituted them with brisket without ever calling us to inform us or offer an alternative, despite having our contact information. When we picked up the food it was neither warm nor hot, and the desserts were not good. ​When we called the restaurant to address these issues—specifically the missing items and the price discrepancy between the ribs we paid for and the brisket we received—the staff was not apologetic. Instead, they were dismissive and seemed annoyed that we were calling to resolve the order. ​Most concerningly, a member of our party developed severe food poisoning after this meal. Given the lack of food safety standards and the unprofessional customer service, I cannot recommend dining here."
