Tonight was, without a doubt, one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. After a very long day, my family and I decided to stop at the McDonald’s on US 42 in Florence, KY. We picked up our food and headed home, looking forward to sitting down and enjoying a meal together. Unfortunately, when we sat down to eat, my wife discovered a bundle of hair inside her burger. On top of that, her chicken sandwich was missing the bottom bun entirely. My wife called the restaurant to make them aware of what had happened. This is where what should have been a simple customer-service issue turned into an incredibly frustrating experience. The manager who answered the phone, Samantha Hamilton, told my wife that we would need to bring the food back to the restaurant to prove that there was actually hair in it. She explained that she had been wearing a hairnet all night and that she was the person who prepared our food. Normally, I probably would have just let it go. Mistakes happen. But the tone and manner in which my wife was spoken to were unacceptable in my opinion, so I decided to return to the restaurant with the food. When we arrived, we spoke directly with Ms. Hamilton. Rather than simply acknowledging the problem and working to resolve it, she was extremely defensive and continued to insist that there was no hair in the food and that we were essentially trying to get free food. For the record, we were not looking for free food. We simply wanted to make the restaurant aware of a serious food-quality issue and expected to be treated respectfully. Ms. Hamilton pointed out that she was wearing a hairnet, but from where I was standing, there was hair visibly sticking out around the hairnet. Regardless of where the hair came from, the way this situation was handled was the biggest issue for me. She offered to remake the food, which we politely declined. After asking for the corporate contact information, she eventually offered us a refund, which we accepted. The refund was $4.38 for two items, out of the 14 items we purchased. If our goal had been to get free food, as was suggested, we certainly wouldn’t have driven back to the restaurant, returned the food, and accepted a $4.38 refund. What bothered me most was the complete lack of accountability and the way we were treated as though we were dishonest customers. Ms. Hamilton also told us that she had been in management for 15 years. I found that particularly surprising given the way she handled this situation. Management isn’t just about preparing food or running a shift—it’s about knowing how to handle customers when something goes wrong. Mistakes can happen at any restaurant. Hair in someone’s food can happen, although it absolutely shouldn’t. What separates a good restaurant from a bad one is how they respond when a customer brings a legitimate concern to their attention. Unfortunately, this experience has completely changed my opinion of this location. I realize I’m only one customer, but I can say with certainty that this location has lost my family’s business. I sincerely hope management or corporate takes the time to review what happened and considers whether this is how customers should be treated when they bring forward a legitimate food-safety and quality concern. Very disappointing experience. I would strongly encourage the management team to address both the food-quality issue and, perhaps more importantly, the customer-service issues that followed it.

Had a terrible experience today. They messed up two separate orders I placed in a single day, which felt like more than just a honest mistake. Based on how I was treated, it clearly felt like non-Caucasian customers are not valued or treated with basic respect here. Very disappointed with the service and the atmosphere.

This McDonald’s is more ghetto than the one in Covington. Service is always slow. Takes 10 mins to get one drink made. And for some reason the whole place smells like a litter box.

I had a fantastic experience at this McDonald's! The dining room and counter were exceptionally clean, which is always reassuring. The staff members were warm, welcoming, and very polite. Most importantly, my order was completely accurate and the food was fresh and hot. I will definitely be coming back here again. Highly recommend

I ordered 2 plain cheeseburgers along with other items and got home and they were not plain. I called and the manager said “Are you going to bring back the other cheeseburgers?” I said, Oh, you want the ones I got back? And she said yes, for inventory purposes. Not even an I’m sorry. I drove back to get the right ones and was livid. I was told that she is always rude and I won’t be back to that family owned location. I have never been asked to bring my wrong order back to any fast food restaurant. Wendy’s gave me my entire order again when I just complained about the wrong fries.
