One star is generous.
The customer service at this Taco Bell is absolutely terrible, and the manager’s handling of a simple issue was one of the most ridiculous customer service experiences I’ve had.
On a previous visit, I paid extra for one of their sauces and did not receive it. This time, I mentioned that when they told me they were out of mild sauce. Instead of just acknowledging the mistake, the manager made it feel like replacing a 20-cent sauce was some grand favor. She eventually apologized and assured me she would personally make sure it was included this time.
She specifically told me she watched them put it in my bag.
I trusted her, drove home, opened the bags, and once again, it was not there.
When I called back, she first insisted that she saw them put it in. After I explained that I had emptied every bag and it was nowhere to be found, the story changed. Then she said she told them to put it in the bag with my name on it, but they must have put it in another bag next to mine.
So to be clear: the manager personally assured me the issue was fixed, claimed she watched it happen, and then admitted it may have gone into someone else’s order anyway.
Her solution was that next time I come back, I can give her name and they will replace it.
That is not customer service. That is the bare minimum being treated like a privilege.
The problem is not the 20 cents. The problem is the complete lack of accountability, the careless attitude, and the fact that even management cannot handle the smallest correction properly. If they cannot reliably put a paid item in a bag after the manager personally promises it is there, that says everything about how this location operates.
I left feeling like my business meant absolutely nothing to them. No real apology, no actual attempt to make it right, just “come back and maybe we’ll give you the thing you already paid for.”
I will not be returning to this location, and honestly, this experience was bad enough to make me reconsider going to Taco Bell at all. There are too many other places to spend money to be treated like an inconvenience over something they messed up twice.
