- AJAdrian JamesJun 27, 20261.0****Marshall County Health Department. Under Section 3-306.14 of the Kentucky Food Code, the employee had a legal obligation to throw that returned pizza directly into the trash.**** Stupid people shouldn't be handling food and NOT knowing proper health standards and safety. Girlfriend went today (06/27) and our order wasnt ready. We waited in the side lot for 15 mins before getting in line. Someone was in front of us. They handed food out of the delivery window, into wrong customers vehicle. After about a minute, the food was returned to employee. Couple minutes later, they finally leave. We pull up and are handed the food, so girlfriend asks if this was handed to the customers before us. She said yes. Girlfriend points out how that violates health department code, and they have to remake the food. Employee says they have to check with their manager, George. He claims they can give it to us since it wasnt opened by the customer. Which regardless, is incorrect. Not to mention, how did the wrong customers know if it wasn't theirs if they didnt open and check??? She wanted a refund and they STILL asked if we wanted the food afterwards. They're dull and clueless. George in Management, and all employees need retraining or replacement. Health department is being notified for improper food handling. I bet they dont even wash their hands after using the restroom either. "No, fast food restaurants cannot and should not give that food to the right people. Once food leaves the counter or drive-thru window and is handled by a customer, health code regulations and strict safety policies require it to be thrown away. Here is why they cannot reuse it ◦ Health & Safety: Because the food was in the possession of an unknown person, there is a risk of contamination, tampering, or the spread of germs. • Liability: Restaurants can be held legally liable if a customer gets sick from previously handled food ‣ No Reselling: Food safety standards strictly prohibit re-serving food once it has been transferred to a consumer's hands. f you receive the wrong food or vour food is given to someone else, the standard procedure s for the restaurant to dispose of the incorrect order and prepare a brand-new, fresh meal for the correct customer."
