My husband and I live out of state now but when we come back to Wichita, Napoli's is always on our short list of must visit restaurants. This visit was no exception and like always, the food did not disappoint. Delicious as always and highly recommended!

I’ve never had a bad meal but last night was my favorite to date. I was in the mood for something comforting and asked if they would make me bowl of spaghetti with butter. When it arrived I added a heavy sprinkle of black pepper, a pile of Parmesan and a sprinkle of salt. So simple but so good. Like being a kid again but with amazing pasta and wine. 😉

I took a photo of my plate to check calories. An app I use found me this restaurant and scanned the food. The fried calamari and vegetables had good protein and tasted great. The dining room is very clean and comfortable.

The menu represents Italian and the service provided is very solid. The wine choice has some ok choices but is more broad based versus what I would expect with a wider variety of Italian choices to pair with the various food offerings. The food is interesting as the meatballs were served up in a good gravy and were tender and tasty with some lightly toasted bread. The bruschetta was served up and was not in a traditional sense like any bruschetta as there were four little cups with toppings alongside bread. The toppings were not enough to cover the bread provided. Hardly any fresh diced tomatoes were available and it was underwhelming as an offering. For salads we had the caprese which again was an oddly prepared caprese with strangely cut tomatoes and cheese that was unappealing and not much else to accompany. The Caesar salad had radishes and it was not a traditional romaine cut with beautiful leafy options as instead it was chopped almost fine and lacking the leaves with a very mild tasteless dressing lacking any sort of cheese but pepper was offered. Neither the caprese or Caesar salads were fully eaten as they simply missed the mark. The chicken parm had large portions of chicken and seemed to be enjoyed. The eggplant parm looked like teeny medallions and lacked taste while the veal was two good sized medallions that were tough as shoe leather with no breading and had no taste at all with a very loose watery sauce. Orecchiette was suooosed to be the pasta but they were not typical as they were more like Kraft shells but due to the poorly prepared veal it was the only edible portion. The Alfredo sauce was, it appeared, water based versus cream or just completely incorrectly prepared with small shrimp that looked closer to what you serve on a salad versus the typical tasty medium sized shrimp with a beautiful crispness as these were soft and tasteless. The eggplant, veal, and fettuccine were all left uneaten. The service was prompt but they did not notice or ask about all the uneaten dishes which was disappointing. No manager was seen or heard from the entire time there as typically when so much food is left virtually untouched, this would prompt a visit. Would recommend coming here for the meatballs and then go elsewhere for the main meal.

So, I went into this experience wanting something different from my go-to spots for some Italian food. This popped up and we said heck why not!? When we walked in the door, we were greeted by 2 lovely energetic young ladies who were super nice and informed us it would be about a 15-minute wait. Overall were still doing great, we looked around at the decor and the patio and really liked the atmosphere and that is the end of what was nice about the experience. We sat at the table for probably 10 minutes before we were greeted by our server Lindsey. He said he would be right with us and we continued to wait another 7 minutes or so. So, 30 minutes so far without drinks. He comes back to take our drink order and we also put in an appetizer order for the Garlic bread (which was delicious). We get 2 of our drinks to the table after another 15min wait. I got the limoncello drink, and I thought it was good, I had my wife take a sip and that's when I noticed a fly in the drink sitting by the cherry. So, we wait another 10 or so minutes and then I think maybe the bartender comes out to deliver our last drink. I calmly tell the bartender (Woman with a half sleeve tattoo) that there is a fly in my drink, and I would like to send it back and get a new one. You would have thought I shot her dog, I haven't had someone be this rude to me in quite some time. She gave me the stink and a very rudely scoffed at me and said, "Well, what DO YOU WANT!?" She didn't apologize or nothing, she didn't even bother to look in the drink. Look mistakes happen, I wasn't sweating it even still, until I was met with that hostility. So, I used to be a restaurant manager, and I understand things like this happen all the time. When they do happen, I ensured that the Customer left feeling great about their visit and truly accommodated.... None of that happened. So, I send the drink back with the rude woman, I then wait another 10 minutes to get my replacement drink!!! Not a priority evidently... After another 20 minutes or so, our food finally comes out. Everyone's order was correct besides mine, which at this point it is whatever... I ordered Chicken Cabonara and did not receive the chicken. They brought out my wives Chicken/Shrimp in separate bowls for some reason, we did not ask for them to do that. The food itself was ok, I could definitely tell the food had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while, "Manager of Multiple Restaurants". None of us ate but maybe half of our food, were looking forward to dairy queen to make us happy again at this point. My dinner party was fed up at this point and we just laid our payment options on the table, we didn't want to wait around 20 more minutes to get a check dropped off... the server promptly came and got us checked out. Upon receiving the check my drink was still on there, I was charged for chicken I didn't get, and they charged us for a split plate we knew nothing about. Not my favorite way to spend $100, but as the platitudes go. It is what it is. Did not think this would ever beat my Applebee's in Park City experience but here we are. I am really hoping this restaurant can refocus, deliver a product and service worthy of applause. But that was nearly 2 hours I won't get back.
