Great place for lunch, we came last month when at KU Med and was so impressed we came back today. First time we asked the staff to surprise us and they brought something that fit our tastes perfectly. Tried raw sushi an dot was wonderful. Excellent food and service. We even suggested our daughter try this on her senior trip to KC and her friends loved it.

Food was good but I won’t be going back because of the shady business practices. First they charge extra if you use a credit card. But they said we could pay cash. So that’s what we did. Our bill was $33.17. I gave the waiter $40. When he bought back change he said they didn’t do coins and gave me only $6 change. Now, I understand rounding the pennies because they’re going away, but to short me that much is just wrong and a bad business practice. He also didn’t disclose that until after we paid. So basically there was no way to get out of there without paying more than menu price. So I’m not going back. There are many other sushi places in town. I know it’s very little money and I will not miss it but it is the principle. They lost a customer for life for 83 cents. Not very smart.

We had a great happy hour at Westwood Location on Rainbow! Our server SOPHIA was so nice. She was attentive, warm, welcoming and provided a great first experience for us. We had several rolls, and a couple of very good cocktails. Sophia asked us how we liked everything and was very kind and accommodating with all requests. The atmosphere was inviting and trendy and we enjoyed our time there! Happy hour prices were good and they offer a big selection of hh food and drinks. Now, if the restrooms had hooks on backs of doors and maybe somewhere to set a purse, while washing hands, it would have been 5 stars all the way! Using the floor for purses is not so great. 😉

Maybe it's a sign of the times and the tariffs but this is another place where the price point considerably exceeds the perceived value. To be sure, the food was excellent and the service was fast and friendly. Nevertheless, the cost of leaving an adult fully satiated put this in the special occasion category while the atmosphere is more like "let's grab a drink after work". We went because we heard the happy hour menu was a bargain but even so we spent about $70 each, which is more than I would expect for a couple of drinks and a few appetizers, tasty though they were so no complaints about quality.

It’s one of those places that can really go either way. When you get an attentive, on-the-ball server, the whole experience feels smooth and enjoyable—you’re looked after, things arrive at the right time, and it just works.
But if the service isn’t quite there, the visit quickly shifts into a pretty average, forgettable experience where nothing really stands out.
Their happy hour, though, is solid and definitely worth checking out. It’s probably the most consistently good part of the experience and makes it a better value stop overall.
