I gave 1 star because there is no option to rate 0 stars. Where do I even start?
I used to go to this location daily at 4:30 a.m. before going to work. Unfortunately, this is the only coffee place open that early, so I have continued going back despite the many issues.
There always seems to be an issue with the coffee machines, ovens, or, unfortunately, the rude staff. To be honest, I’m not even sure how this location is still open. The previous manager was okay, but the current manager is by far the worst.
I had a complaint a few months ago, and the regional manager, Ty, was actually very helpful. He even offered me a $5 gift card, which I never picked up because I told myself I was never going back to this location again.
Well… I eventually went back because, as I mentioned, it is the only coffee place open that early. Within the first week, I remembered exactly why I had stopped going. There was an issue every single day except one.
First issue: One morning, the ovens were not turned on. I waited about 15 minutes at the drive-thru window after placing my order at home approximately 20 minutes before arriving. If the location opens at 4:30 a.m., shouldn’t the ovens be on and ready to go?
Second issue: I ordered two coffees—one frozen and one hot. I was then told that the hot coffee machine was down. I said okay and decided to get one frozen and one iced coffee instead. The “manager” came back to the window and told me the frozen coffee was not an option either. I honestly don’t remember the reason, nor should I have to. I’m the customer, and I expect the available options to be communicated before I place an order.
Long story short, I ended up with two iced coffees, which, by the way, tasted terrible. The interaction also gave me the impression that the manager had absolutely no passion or pride in the work she was doing. Whether she enjoys her job or not is not my concern, but the way she interacts with customers absolutely is.
I couldn’t even cancel my order because, apparently, Dunkin does not offer that option—even when the store is unable to provide what was ordered.
Third issue: Another morning, I placed an order about 15 minutes before arriving to pick it up. When I got there, my order still wasn’t ready, and I ended up waiting approximately another 12 minutes. I was the only customer in the store at the time.
Once again, the same manager explained that she was the only person working, which was why it was taking so long. I understand that staffing can be an issue, but that is not the customer’s responsibility. If this had been a one-time occurrence, I would have understood. Unfortunately, this happens frequently—almost every time I place an order at this location.
And these examples are just from one week. There are plenty of other issues I could mention, but this review is already long enough.
In summary, this store is horrible. From crusty/burnt food and flavorless coffee at times to HORRIBLE customer service, the overall experience is extremely disappointing.
The only positive interaction I have had was with Ty, the regional manager—and he doesn’t even work at this location.
Dunkin has lost a customer. I know one less customer probably won’t make a difference to Dunkin, but I will absolutely share my experience and let people know how bad this location has become.
If management actually cares about improving this store, I strongly recommend they take a serious look at the staff, management, food quality, equipment, and overall customer service at this location.
