  If you are looking for a steakhouse in the Kansas City Metro area, look no further than here! They deliver on all aspects of the dining experience. Rubin has been one of their chefs for the last 30 years and it shows in his craftsmanship cooking a steak. We went with the Filet Minot this time around and really enjoyed the cook on it! Next time the Ribeye is on the list. We also wanted to give a shout out to our sever Abby, who was professional, knowledgeable, and extremely personable. They are lucky to have her over there as she curated an enjoyable dining experience! If you have her as your server, you are in great hands! Overall, I cannot say enough great things about this restaurant.

  We have had nothing but exceptional experiences at J. Gilbert's and our most recent visit was no exception. Amazing steaks, sides you wish you had room for, and a location that is easy for us to get in and out of. Our server Angel is the latest in a line of fantastic servers we have had there. She took excellent care of us, from the moment we walked in to prepping to-go bags at the end. Just an excellent dining experience from beginning to end!

  Ordered the bacon chipotle flavored shrimp, the maple flavored salmon with pecans and green beans and asparagus. Topped off with an Apple Blondie for desert. Everything I had was tasty! The food wasn’t heavy at all and was very satisfied with the meal. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and everyone at the table enjoyed their meals! Thank you Tori!

  Had a really great experience here the steak was phenomenal. ( Bone in Ribeye ) The flavor was on point perfect medium rare flavor top the line had a really nice Server. I don’t remember her name, but she was blonde with bangs, and she was very nice and smiled most of the time which was refreshing compared to some other establishments. I wish they had a tomahawk steak or ribeye that was bigger cause I would definitely pick that one 😂 sides are fantastic recommend the cauliflower for sure !

  A Truly Memorable Birthday Experience at J. Gilbert’s. We visited J. Gilbert’s in Overland Park to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and what could have simply been a nice dinner turned into a truly memorable experience, largely because of Daniel and the wonderful staff. From the moment we were seated, Daniel was incredibly polite, humble, attentive, and genuinely caring. He went above and beyond throughout the entire evening to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. His service was not just professional, it felt personal. You could tell that he truly cared about making our evening special. The food was excellent. We especially recommend the bacon-wrapped shrimp, it was absolutely outstanding and, honestly, one of the highlights of the meal. Everything else we ordered was delicious as well, and the quality of the food matched the beautiful atmosphere. But what really made the evening special was the people. Daniel and the entire team treated us with such kindness and warmth that we left feeling like we had experienced something more than just a great dinner. Daniel, thank you for going above and beyond and for helping make my wife’s birthday so special. Your kindness, humility, and exceptional service made a lasting impression on our family. J. Gilbert’s is fortunate to have someone like you. To the management and the entire J. Gilbert’s team: please recognize Daniel & the Manager for the wonderful job they did. People like him are what turn a restaurant visit into a memory that guests carry with them. We will absolutely remember this birthday dinner and look forward to coming back again.
