Not ordering Chipotle again. Probably some of the worst service have ever received from staff at a fast food restaurant. And that’s compared to even McDonalds.
Came in to pick up a mobile order, checked the shelf and noticed it wasn’t ready. I proceeded to wait for a few minutes by the register/pick up area, and thought maybe an employee would ask if I needed anything. I was ignored by the cashier, who was not helping any customers during the majority of this window of time, and watched as she proceeded to prep bags with chips.
Because I wasn’t approached, I decided to come up to the cashier and ask what my order status was. She looked at me and said “it’s on the shelf”. My response, naturally, was “no, it isn’t, that’s why I’m asking. You can see for yourself”. She proceeded to go back to what she was doing (if I recall correctly).
Eventually, she grabbed a bottle of coke and a bag of chips and walked to the back - I don’t know what the “back” is for, nor did she even update me, much less say a word. She comes back out, doesn’t say a word to me. Apparently, those were for my order.
Another employee came over during this debacle, asked what happened, and proceeded to go into the back with the first employee. After a minute or so of them back there, the door opens slightly and the bag comes out from behind the door. At this point, I’m quite upset. Did I “politely” take my order that was nearly 10 minutes late? Honestly, no. I felt like no one in the establishment cared to even take me seriously or treat me as having any validity. I was ignored and even laughed at while I expressed my frustrations.
I ask for a manager and she comes out, but doesn’t speak any English (not sure why - whatever). I don’t know if the first employee was supposed to be translating, but the manager clearly didn’t seem to be taking any of my concerns seriously - She wouldn’t even look at me while I was speaking. Realizing the language barrier, and knowing SOME Spanish, I attempted to communicate the fact I wanted a phone number to file a complaint. The girls continued to smirk and laugh at me, saying I can “find it on the app”. I proceeded to state that I wanted someone to give me the information, given the fact I’d already been inconvenienced. They pointed to business cards at the register, and made a snarky comment “you have glasses” when I couldn’t find the number. I was pretty upset at this point, even shaking slightly.
The entire situation made me late coming back from work, and entirely spoiled my appetite. To be honest, I’m afraid that they probably spat in my food, given the attitudes I saw. Clearly this is the culture- a lack of manners and/or care. It’s sad, and I realize LOTS of people and places are like this. But what’s even more disappointing is communicating “I don’t like how I’m being spoken to” and being treated as if I’m crazy.
Again, I do not recommend ordering. From the time I got there, and ESPECIALLY by the time I left, not one of the three employees (INCLUDING the MOD) wanted to help me. I’m sorry I expected my order to be ready by the pickup time that was set. I’m sorry I even ordered in the first place.
