  I wish I had taken pictures. I really just came to read the review’s to compare to my experience, and most seem consistent. I have been a handful of times and staff and atmosphere is always good. I love the food, but would like to see some changes with the Mac & Cheese it is Really Really over seasoned and that is one of the most important sides in Soul Food. Most reviews are saying the same thing, so maybe it should be taken into consideration. ❤️❤️❤️

  The food came out fresh, hot and tasted good! The flavor was on point! The cook even came out and asked us "how'd everything taste?", he said "he noticed we got quiet" lol! I highly recommend the food here!

Each texture added something distinct, creating a comforting meal clearly made with care. We stopped in after Kansas City Chiefs training camp in St. Joseph while heading to Great Wolf Lodge. There were five of us, and we ordered a Classic Smash Burger, Cobb salad, salmon salad, fried chicken, mac and cheese, and green beans. Everything was made fresh, so the 25-minute wait felt reasonable, and the relaxed, friendly atmosphere made it easy to settle in. Smaller orders also seemed to come out faster. The fried chicken delivered the crunch I expected, while the mac and cheese surprised me with a rich flavor that built a bit of heat as I ate. The salads balanced the meal well, with especially refreshing, crisp lettuce alongside the heavier dishes. I love food rooted in tradition where seasoning, texture, and attention to detail matter, and that’s exactly what I found here.
