How times have changed. No, “ Hi how are you?” No, “what can I get for you today?” No, “Welcome to portillos.” As I I pull into the drive-through the girl taking orders just says, “Hello.” And stares at me waiting I assumed to give my order. I’m use to some sort of welcoming greeting ANYWHERE I go to eat. Not Portillos. So as awkward as that was, I started giving my order. Ordered a beef sandwich, always get asked if I want peppers. She didn’t ask. She didn’t ask if I wanted to drink or fries with that either. Not that I would forget, but usually that seems like something they would try to get you to buy. In the middle of me giving my order, she stops paying attention and is trying to tell another car to go in another lane. Instead of saying, hold on, give me one second, or anything else she just interrupts my order. Not guest service friendly at all. At this point, it’s kind of frustrating and it seems like she doesn’t care. After she gets the driver to pull up, she then walks away from the car window without saying a word. We thought she was going to help them , But Then stood further up, not communicating with us that she needed us to move up with her. After having to deal with her nonsense, we finally get our food and the sausage taste like it’s been sitting there forever. My Father isn’t happy with the food and says it’s the last time we’ll ever go to this establishment I get it, I work in customer service. It’s a few hours from closing time, And there’s nothing better than going home. However, there’s a job to do. If you’re there just to collect the check, what are you doing? Either there needs to be better training when it comes to Communicating with your customers or supervisor needs to make sure Things around there getting done properly. As a place that’s loved by my family, It’s kind of a bummer to see the guest service part go downhill as well as getting served Food that’s probably been sitting there for a while. For $50 I’ll go to McDonald’s.
