The kids were at the in-laws, so my wife and I were craving some traditional deep dish pizza. It’s been years since we last went to Giordano's—no real reason other than we usually make pizza at home or go somewhere closer—and it was a great choice for a date night. We went on a Saturday evening and were seated in about 5 minutes. The service was fantastic; our waitress friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We ordered a deep dish pizza with sausage, pepperoni, and spinach. Since deep dish takes longer than thin crust, plan on a bit of a wait, but it's well worth it. I had a glass of wine ($8+ for a generous pour, which felt fair), and my wife had a soda. The pizza was excellent, and the leftovers warmed up perfectly in the oven the next day. The atmosphere was great—a lively, filled restaurant with an appropriate noise level. They have a nice bar area with plenty of TVs showing major sports, and it looked like they had outdoor seating available as well (though not in use when we were there). We’ll definitely be back, next time with the kids!

The Chicago style deep dish is a decadent and hefty go to pizza!! This place is great, & I do not have to drive all the way to the Chi to get it. It does take about 40min to bake, so either order ahead or as soon as seated, is my recommendation. Appetizers are also super tasty! All around great choice for a pizza date or family time!! I keep returning! Highly recommend!

We had a pizza with extra meat. It was a little salty but good. They took quite a while to prepare and serve the pizza however the appetizers came out in a timely manner. Service by our server was good. Overall it was a good experience.

I’ve visited several Giordano’s locations throughout Illinois, and this was my first time at the Schererville location. Unfortunately, it was by far the most disappointing experience I’ve had. The pizza was very dry and lacked the flavor and presentation I’ve come to expect from Giordano’s. It didn’t look as appetizing as pizzas I’ve received at other locations, and the overall quality just wasn’t there. I didn’t have time to wait for a remake, but I did ask my server to share my feedback with the kitchen. The service was fine, but the food itself missed the mark. Based on this experience, I won’t be returning to this location. I hope management takes the feedback seriously and works on improving the consistency with the quality customers expect from the Giordano’s brand.

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience at Giordano’s. After being seated, we waited about 20 minutes before anyone even greeted our table. I completely understand being short-staffed—I’m a server myself, so I know how overwhelming it can be. We politely asked another server who our server would be since we hadn’t been helped yet. She responded that there were only two servers working, which I completely understand, but her tone came across as very rude and dismissive. What made it more frustrating was watching her be warm and friendly with the surrounding tables while she was short with us the entire time. Throughout the meal, every interaction felt rushed. When we said “thank you,” she would either quietly mumble “mhm” while walking away or not acknowledge us at all. We never received an apology for the long wait or any acknowledgment that we’d been sitting there without service. We also ordered the cheese bread, but she brought us mozzarella triangles instead. We let her know those weren’t what we ordered, and she took them away. However, when it came time to pay, our bill seemed much higher than expected. We asked for a printed copy and noticed the mozzarella triangles were still on the check. Mistakes happen, and I wouldn’t have been upset about that by itself, but what was strange was that she said, “Just making sure your check looks right,” even though the item she took back was still being charged to us. We also watched her take the mozzarella triangles to the back and eat them herself. The one positive from our visit was the manager. She handled the situation professionally, corrected the bill immediately, and apologized. She also mentioned that this particular server makes mistakes fairly often. I appreciated that she took the time to make things right. Overall, this wasn’t a good experience. Being busy is understandable, but being dismissive, failing to communicate, and providing poor service isn’t. A simple apology or acknowledgment that she was overwhelmed would have gone a long way. Instead, it felt like we were inconveniencing her simply by wanting to be served.
