  I ate at Oceanaire with a group of 6. We were seated promptly despite being early for our reservation. During our service, there were many aspects we felt were underwhelming for the price point. To start, our waitress seemed very uninformed of the menu, only knowing the wrote script and highest price point items when we asked clarifying questions. We were sat in the back near the kitchen door. The pop music playing overhead was so loud it was difficult to hear each other or the waitress. Our service was also very slow. 20 minutes for our cocktails, and 20 minutes between appetizers and entrees. One of our dishes was forgotten and brought out after we had finished eating everything else, making us late to our next commitment. The food was good and near expected quality of the price point, although my entrees was just above room temperature, probably because of waiting for the longer dishes. Oysters were good and tasted fresh. The sides were tasty, but the seasonal Brussel sprouts were our favorite. After our meal, the waitress took 30 minutes minutes to cash us out saying their computers are slow. Overall I was very disappointed in our experience.

  It was the best steak I think I've ever had, but they mixed up our food and even forgot one of the items completely, we had carved out an hour and a half for this dinner and it took over 2 hours for everything, including 15 minutes to process our payment. I felt like they didn't care about us because they had a big event coming in. It was also very loud with music I would not expect from such a nice restaurant. If the food had not been so good it would have been an easy 1 star review.

  I love Oceanaire. I was thrilled to see there was one where I was traveling. The seafood is always cooked perfectly. I had lobster fingers which is like chicken fingers but lobster. I know people are wondering, why would do that to a perfectly good lobster, but I didn't want a gigantice meal. Oceanaire cooked the lobster perfectly. It came with cheese grits which were also good. My husband had the fish special and had a satisfied look at his first bite. Our first visit in Inidanapolis but many to the one in DC.

  Decided to go to Oceanaire again last night and realized that I had never put in a review! 3 years ago I had dinner here on my honeymoon night (not first wedding, so kept it simple) and I was not very enthused with the service or the fact that we were in wedding attire and there was not even a congratulations or anything (yes on the ticket). The small things are sometimes important and that one was, just ugh. Anyway, went last night before the Yuletide show and the food was amazing. Our server noted that we needed to get in and out and helped to accommodate our time. Service was slow though. There were only a few tables filed and one couple at the bar (not sure if any big events happening in the other rooms). We arrived and it was a lot of time trying to get drinks and order, but once the order was in, it did come out fairly quickly. Hubby had the sea bass and said it was to die for, amazing! I had the capellini which was spicy and wonderful, would definitely get it again. Our friends ordered the filet and some lobster fried thing (I cannot remember) and they absolutely loved their meals. PROS: Ambience and location are amazing, right in downtown Quiet and small booths, which are adorable Food is always amazing, not a doubt that anything you order will be great Parking garage literally across the street Valet Parking Close to all downtown venues Great choices for the wine menu, extensive CONS: Drinks can sometimes be high priced

  I agree with the many reviews praising Oceanaire's outstanding food and attentive service. My meal was so good it could hardly contain itself in the bowl! Instead of repeating what others have already said, I want to focus on two aspects that deserve more recognition: the exceptional restrooms and the outstanding takeout service. First, the restrooms. The upstairs restrooms are elegant, spotless, and beautifully appointed. The quality of the fixtures are top-notch, reflecting the same attention to detail found throughout the restaurant. The hand towels are thick, woven paper towels embossed with the restaurant's logo, which feel both luxurious and hygienic. The décor is simple, tasteful, and complements the overall aesthetic of the dining room. Everything was impeccably clean and smelled fresh. The stalls offer as much privacy as possible in a multi-stall restroom. If you're someone who judges a restaurant's kitchen by the cleanliness of its restrooms, you'll feel completely at ease here. The next day I ordered take-away for my mother, who had been in the hospital. After telling her how amazing the lobster bisque is, the best I have ever had and my favorite soup, she wanted a bowl. The front desk staff went above and beyond to accommodate my pickup order. They offered to include fresh bread on the house and told me they would package it fresh when I arrived. They even invited me to pull into the valet area while I waited, then brought the order out to my car. These little details made the pick-up easier than I could have imagined in a busy downtown setting and left me feeling nurtured. The soup brought my mom great joy. Overall, Oceanaire demonstrates all the high standards of fine dining while bringing a level of care, attention to detail, and customer service that makes you feel valued and nurtured. It is the little things, the details that many restaurants overlook, that elevate a great meal into a truly memorable dining experience. If this is the care they put into the restrooms and a simple take-away order, you can imagine the care they bring to everything else.
