My fiancée and I visited the Outback Steakhouse in Southport, Indiana, on Friday evening, and the entire experience was incredibly disappointing. Unfortunately, there were several red flags from the moment we walked in. The host was unfriendly and, after another staff member asked her to clean a table for the next guests, she simply walked away without doing so. Once we were seated, we heard a server yell that he didn't want a new table. At that point, we honestly should have left. Things went from bad to worse when, while we were eating, a mouse ran underneath our table. What made the situation even more concerning was the some of the staffs reaction. Rather than demonstrating urgency or taking the situation seriously, some employees were standing around laughing, and one attempted to look for the mouse with a flashlight. Based on the direction it came from, it appeared to have run from somewhere near the kitchen area. We also overheard staff members cursing and carrying on while customers were dining. Our server went to get the manager, but the manager never came out to speak with us. There was no direct apology, no explanation, and no effort to personally address our concerns or reassure the guests who had witnessed what happened. Other customers even began walking out. Although our meal was comped, that was not the point. A complimentary meal does not replace proper management, professionalism, cleanliness, or basic customer service. As a customer, I would expect a manager to come out, sincerely apologize, take the situation seriously, and make an effort to reassure guests that their concerns are being addressed. This experience completely changed my opinion of this location. Between the unprofessional behavior, the mouse running through the dining area, and the lack of management involvement, we left feeling disgusted and disappointed. We will not be returning to this location. I hope corporate takes this complaint seriously and looks into both the sanitation concerns and the conduct of the staff. Customers should be able to enjoy a meal without having to witness this kind of behavior or question the cleanliness of the establishment.

Only one complaint..… I overheard the dark skinned busser (maybe host? she was not doing much when i saw her.) speaking INCREDIBLY disrespectfully about (what we could only assume was) another staff member… hope that was resolved and she was fired! She was rude.

The bathroom in the ladies room needs a lock on one of the stalls. I walked in on a lady using the restroom. That is unacceptable in a public place.
