Absolutely loved the Gujarati Thali and Kathiyawadi Thali at Honest Indianapolis - homely, fresh and delicious. It was the perfect meal with 2 sabjis, mithi dal/kadhi, farshan, sweet, salad, chaas, rice & rotis. I follow jain diet and the staff was too kind to accommodate my requirements.
Should definitely visit!

Specially came here from Chicago to try their Kathiyawadi thali and dosa, and it was absolutely amazing! The food was delicious, and our server, Lajja, was exceptional. She explained everything so well, was very welcoming, and made the whole experience even better.
Would definitely recommend this place to everyone. Be sure to try the Kathiyawadi thali and pav bhaji!
We recently visited this restaurant with my wife and son, and while we appreciated that it is a fully vegetarian establishment, our overall experience was not very comfortable.
The main concern was the table space. It felt quite cramped, making it difficult for us to enjoy our meal comfortably. Compared to many restaurants we have visited in Toronto, Scarborough, Brampton, and Mississauga, the seating arrangement here does not provide the same level of comfort or ease.
Another issue was the service style. When customers dine in, they expect a full-service experience. However, here we had to get up ourselves to collect spoons and return dishes, which made it feel more like a takeout setup rather than a proper dine-in restaurant.
Regarding the food, we ordered pav bhaji. The taste was decent, but it could be improved by making it a bit spicier and more flavorful.
The overall presentation of the restaurant could also be enhanced. Staff uniforms or a more professional dress code would help create a proper restaurant atmosphere rather than a casual, home-like setting.
In our experience across multiple restaurants in Indianapolis and Fishers, we have noticed similar patterns. There is significant room for improvement in terms of space management, service quality, and consistency in food (for example, in another South Indian restaurant we were served cold dosa and sambar, which was disappointing).
Customers visit restaurants to relax and enjoy a complete experience—good food, comfortable seating, and attentive service. In cities like Toronto, customers are generally generous with tips, and slightly higher pricing is acceptable if the overall experience justifies it.
I strongly feel that restaurant owners in this area could benefit from observing and learning from restaurant standards in the Greater Toronto Area. It would help elevate the dining experience significantly.

Delicious! I had the Chole Bhatura with Gulab Jamun. The sort of puffy bread accompaniment was fresh and hot. The dish itself, based on chick peas, was freshly made. I would call it medium spicy. The service was gracious, patient and helpful explaining the various menu items, which I always need at Indian restaurants. My Indian chiropractor recommended the place, and I will be forever grateful. (You can also get desserts!)
We had a really good experience at Honest Restaurant. The food was delicious, and everything we ordered was flavorful and well-prepared. The service was also great—staff were attentive, friendly, and made sure we were comfortable throughout our visit.
The only small disappointment was the Anjeer Kaju milkshake. It used to be one of our favorites—rich, thick, and full of flavor—but the one we received this time felt quite diluted and lacked its usual consistency. I hope the team can maintain the quality of this item going forward.
Overall, it was a positive experience, and we look forward to coming back again!
