Today I visited Giordano's, somewhere my family and I frequently go after church on Sundays. Unfortunately, from the moment we walked in until the moment we left, we were met with extremely rude customer service from the manager, Brandy.
From the time she saw my family walk in, she had a scowl on her face and an overall look of disgust. We tried our best to ignore the noticeably uncomfortable environment and continue enjoying our Mother’s Day together, but the experience only got worse.
When our pizza arrived, it was noticeably overcooked. We politely alerted our waitress, who then got Brandy, the same manager who had been visibly unpleasant toward us since we arrived. She briskly walked over, looked at the pizza while standing over us, and then walked away saying she would “take care of it” as she continued walking off. She never returned to speak with us herself, but instead sent our waitress back over to let us know that she would only take half off the pizzas and that I would now have to pay for the “free” Mother’s Day drink that Giordano’s was offering.
The entire situation was completely unnecessary and honestly ridiculous. I never asked for a discount or anything for free. Simply remaking the pizza would have been enough. Instead, I was met with a nasty attitude that completely ruined what was supposed to be a nice Mother’s Day brunch with my family.
My family and I will absolutely be taking our business elsewhere moving forward. We enjoy supporting local restaurants that actually respect and value their customers, and unfortunately that was not the experience we received today.
UPDATE: I was promptly contacted directly by management regarding this situation, and it was addressed professionally. I was given an apology as well as a credit, which I genuinely appreciated. While the original experience was very disappointing and unfortunately impacted my Mother’s Day, I do appreciate management taking the time to reach out, acknowledge the situation, and work toward making it right.
This is classic Chicago style deep dish pizza and is the same as you'll get at the Chicago stores. A very different style of pizza if you have never had it. Be aware that this pizza is so thick with layers it typically takes 35-40 minutes to bake, maybe longer, just like in Chicago. That's not slow service but just what it takes. Also prices seem high for the size of the pizza but the slices are at least twice as thick and not because of thick dough. I eat half the number of slices of this style pizza as other pizzas. I think it is great pizza, but also like other styles. They do serve a thin crust pizza for those that don't like the deep dish, but I would not go there for thin pizza but others seem to like it.
They sell frozen pre-made deep dish pizza to go and we like to keep one in the freezer if we don't feel like going out. Again, thick heavy slices fill you up quickly. It takes just as long at home to cook so don't think it's like a frozen boxed pizza ftom the grocery you can heat up in 15 minutes. But I think the home cooked frozen is almost as good as the in restaurant pizza.
We always have left overs and find the best way to reheat is in the oven slowly. Not quite as good as fresh but still excellent. I like cold left over pizza but not this type but others may.

05_02_2026 My wife and I tried this place for the very first time and we had a terrible experience. We ordered a small pizza and a beef sandwich w/ hot pepper's and jus on the side and didn't receive it. All we wanted was for them to fix it. The fix was not fair. We will no longer visit this pizza place.

We had our first and last visit on 5/2.
We ordered a pizza and an Italian beef sandwich with parmesan and garlic fries.
The fries were packaged so that steam could get trapped in the container and they were soggy and limp when my husband got home. The pizza was fine. It was nothing special and plenty of better pizza places in town. The Italian beef sandwich comes with au just and giardeneria. That’s what an Italian beef is. The toppings make the sandwich. Neither of those items were in the bag. So we had a dry roast beef sandwich.
I called and let them know as soon as my husband got home and we unpacked the food. The gentleman that answered first awkwardly told me that he handed my husband the food and he was certain it was there and advised it’s normally in the brown bag. (As if we didn’t look before calling) I assured him it wasn’t packed and all we’d really like is an opportunity to grab a replacement sandwich sometime this week.
He advised me he’d have to speak to a manager and placed me on hold. He returned to the line to confirm that he in fact found the items on the counter tucked back and they apologized for not sending it and said “the owner” authorized a $4 credit. You’ve got to be kidding me, especially after confirming the mistake was in fact on their end.
I let him know not to bother with the credit. We won’t be back. Mistakes happen and we understand that. We didn’t want money back. We just wanted it replaced and we’d pick up within the week. If an owner can’t handle when something happens and make it right then no reason to support that business. I don’t call around to get free food, I’m not unreasonable, I didn’t expect anything out of the ordinary except for it to be made right.
It all worked out in the end becuse after making the call we sat down to eat and the food was all just alright. It isn’t worth the 18 minute drive in my opinion. Much better pizzas in Fort Wayne and it wasn’t anything special. Combined with the lack of care that they messed up we won’t be back.

I ordered a 16" deep dish bbq chicken pizza for takeout on April 20th- while it looks as advertised on top, when we cut into it there were whole pieces of unmelted shredded cheese throughout and raw dough in the middle. I've had bad pizza before, but never so undercooked that it puts me and my unborn child at risk. I would have preferred burnt crust from cooking too long over what I was served.
Incredibly disappointed, I don't think we'll be coming back.
