    My experience at Topgolf in Fishers was extremely disappointing. I visited as a walk-in with my 9-year-old daughter and was told the wait would be 1½ to 2 hours. The employee sent a text to my phone to verify I could receive messages, I confirmed it right there, and was told I would receive another text when our bay was ready. While we waited, we made the best of it. We ate at the restaurant, ordered drinks and food multiple times, and even spent money in the retail shop where I let my daughter pick out a new hat and shirt. About an hour into the wait, we noticed the place had cleared out quite a bit, but I didn’t want to keep bothering the employees at the counter. They had already given me an estimated wait time, and since I was a walk-in, I trusted their system and was perfectly willing to wait my turn. I even gave them some extra time beyond the original estimate before checking back. After about 2½ hours, I finally went to the counter to ask where we were on the waitlist. That’s when the employee told me there wasn’t even a waitlist anymore and that they had several bays sitting open for quite some time. They looked into the system and discovered the original employee had made a mistake, so we had been waiting the entire time for nothing. They immediately got us into a bay and gave us a $15 credit, but that hardly made up for wasting 2½ hours of our day. To make matters worse, once we finally started playing, our bay’s screen froze for nearly 15-20 mins. We had to wait until our server happened to walk by and flag him down so he could reboot the system.

    This place is supposed to be fun, which is why our family chose to go there. We made a reservation online and were assigned Bay 134, located in the bottom corner with very limited space. I am not a golfer, and the bay felt extremely inconvenient, with what seemed like only a few feet before hitting the wall. We politely asked to switch bays. The manager, Anna, showed no interest in helping us find a solution and refused to change our bay. We then asked if we could be placed on a walk-in waiting list for a different bay, and she refused that as well. Unfortunately, both staff members we interacted with were rude and unhelpful. Our 12-year-old son was very excited to play. After realizing we were not getting any assistance, we were trying to decide what to do and were in the process of getting a refund for the food and drinks we had ordered but had not consumed. While we were waiting for our refund, the manager called the police and asked us to leave. Our son had to watch police officers approach our family and escort us out. We were refused service simply because we expected the manager, Anna, to help resolve the situation. Never in my life have I experienced such poor customer service. Calling the police on a family with a 12-year-old child present was shocking and humiliating. To make matters worse, the manager appeared to be laughing and joking with staff afterward. It is a shame to have management like this running a place that is supposed to be enjoyable for families. I sincerely hope Topgolf management reviews this incident and takes action regarding the unfair and humiliating treatment of paying customers. This situation could have been resolved by simply offering a different bay or allowing us to join the waiting list. Instead, the manager chose to use her authority to remove a family from the premises. If others have had similar experiences, I encourage them to speak up.

    Top golf has added several virtual games to their offerings that are friendlier to novice golfers. Additionally, their special club with an oversized head makes even an inexperienced golfer competitive in the games. The venue has a bar and limited food menu with service available at your golfing bay.

    Topgolf was an absolute blast — way more fun than I expected, and the whole family had a great time. We got the Funday Faves platter to share between five of us, and honestly, it was more than enough to keep everyone fed and happy while we were out on the bays. Good food, good vibes — no one was going hungry. One thing I didn’t know going in is that you don’t need to bring your own golf clubs. Topgolf has everything you need right there. That said, my son decided he wanted to bring his own, and that was totally fine too — so it works either way. Wish I’d known that before we showed up, but it’s good to know for next time. What I really love about Topgolf is how well it works for pretty much any occasion. It’s genuinely great for families — the kind of place where you end up making those fun memories that stick. But it’s also the perfect spot to come back to with the boys for a more relaxed hang. It’s one of those rare places that fits both. If you’ve been on the fence about trying it, just go. You won’t regret it.

    I have not been able to play golf since 2021 due to health issues. My youngest son took me to Top Golf for Father’s Day. I have been wanting to go, but havhad the chance until now. I had so much fun! This is way better than the golf course! Who knew you could play Angry Birds by hitting a golf ball! Fun for everyone regardless of skill level! (yes I won the angry birds game) I lost the other games.
