We visited on one of the soft opening nights and we're impressed with the food. This was a return visit to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday (on their 2nd Friday of being open & not even 2 full weeks). What a difference!! The food was still amazing and you can tell that the staff truly care.❤️ There is still a wait- but well worth it!!! They make sure your drinks are refilled and the owner makes his rounds checking on folks- so you don't feel "neglected" or "forgotten". Honestly, we didn't even pay attention, or notice, how long we waited- we enjoyed our time there. The 1st time I went, it was my grandson and I. He had a Brisket Grilled cheese on GF bread, chips, and the Lemon brulee dessert (GF). The Brisket was so tender, it had the texture of pulled pork- but without the bites of hot, greasy fat.🥴 I actually stopped ordering brisket for that reason- I don't like eating fat and it can be disguised 🥸 in brisket. Nothing hidden here- just tasty meat! I will say, however, that when we went today, my hubby got the 2 meat dinner with pulled pork & brisket (without sauce- due to the sugar (& then ordered the spicy baked beans 🙄 sugar much?!?)) and the brisket was a wee bit on the dry side- but it was unsauced. AND I was still delighted because it wasn't like the Sahara, it had great flavor, and I'll take that over hot, greasy, fat in my mouth any day. 🤪 Just for the record, the Queso Brisket app was ordered both visits and shall be on each subsequent visit! 🤣

Food: BBQ mac 5/5, full rack ribs 5/5, brisket sandwich w/ frys 4/5 (frys needs workshoped, too potato not enough crisp, lacking seasoning) bbq nachos 4/5 (chips needs workshoped, too salty) brisket queso 4/5 (same compliant w/ the chips, too salty) Service: Confusing, you order at the bar with the tv(menu). Pay first then eat. No sign to order up front or sit yourself. Luckily we had other people infront us so we did what they did. Food came out quick. Presentation was "instagram" worthy. Atmosphere: Recommend to go orders if planning on eating there on busy hours. Not many tables inside. There is outside sitting. Loved being able to speak to the owner. Great energy you can tell every thing is done with passion of feeding people.

We totally understand how when a new business opens up, seemingly everyone want to try "the new place". My wife & I made the 22 mile round trip to try Phat Daddy's on two occasions. Both times we were told there would be a 45 minute wait, and left disappointed. Today (8/11/26) the same thing happened. As we left again, it just so happened that Phat Daddy himself walked outside to deliver a take out order. He asked how we liked his food. We explained what had happened for the 3rd time. He marched us back in saying we will take care of that. He sit us at a nice table, got our drinks immediately, and we had some of the best pulled pork that we have ever enjoyed!!! Let me say that it is WELL WORTH the wait if necessary!!! Respectfully, Ray "Boomer" & Vicki Christy

I ordered carryout from Phat Daddy’s BBQ for my family on August 7, and the entire experience — from the service to the food — was outstanding. From the moment I walked in, the smell of the food immediately got my attention. It was obvious they were incredibly busy, and from what I gathered, they had been busy most of the day. What impressed me most was how the staff handled it. Despite the crowd and the wait, everyone remained friendly, calm, professional, and genuinely focused on taking care of their customers. While we were waiting, a staff member came out to check on everyone and make sure people had drinks. The ladies at the checkout consistently kept customers updated on their orders and were incredibly courteous and apologetic about the wait. You could tell the entire team cared about the experience people were having, even during one of their busiest times. When I received my order, a few items were missing due to a computer error. The owner personally came out, addressed the issue, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was corrected. That level of customer service says a lot about a business and the people running it. And then there was the food. Everything we ordered was excellent, but the brisket was easily some of the best I’ve ever had. It was flavorful, tender, and absolutely worth coming back for. The white cheddar mac and cheese was also incredible — without question the best mac and cheese I’ve had from a restaurant. Great barbecue is one thing, but combining amazing food with a staff that genuinely cares about its customers makes a place stand out. Phat Daddy’s BBQ is absolutely worth the wait, and I truly believe Bedford has gained something special with this restaurant. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out. This was my first visit, but it definitely won’t be my last. Thank you to the entire Phat Daddy’s BBQ team for the fantastic food and exceptional service!

I was genuinely excited to try Phat Daddies. I’ve been looking forward to having a good barbecue restaurant in Bedford, and I really wanted to love this place. I even tried to convince myself the meal wasn’t as bad as it was, but unfortunately, I just couldn’t. The brisket was one of the driest I’ve ever had. It was overcooked, burnt on the outside, and so dry that I literally had trouble swallowing it. I kept drowning it in barbecue sauce just to get it down, but even that couldn’t save it. The wings were rubbery and chewy instead of tender. The potato salad was overwhelmingly mustard-heavy, to the point that it overpowered everything else. The lemonade tasted like powdered mix rather than fresh lemonade. The cornbread was the biggest disappointment. It was unbelievably dry…..like trying to eat dust. There was no butter, no honey, no moisture, and very little flavor. I honestly couldn’t finish it. This wasn’t a matter of being picky. I came in hoping to become a regular customer because Bedford deserves a great barbecue restaurant. I truly wanted to leave a glowing review. Instead, I left disappointed. I sincerely hope they improve because I’d love to come back one day and have a completely different experience.
