  Horrible prices. Horrible produce. Horrible meats. They aren't making as much money on soda and snacks so they're cutting quality everywhere else and ripping you off any way they can. More expensive than comparable local mid-tier grocery stores and you make older people who don't understand the app pay more money. Their expiration dates never seem right. Everything expires a lot earlier than what's on the label. Your 'buy one get one free' deals is a tax on people that don't understand math. You double the price and then pay for the cheaper one, meaning I'm paying the difference between the two in addition to the regular price. Let's say I buy 8 burger patties outright and that costs $20. Jewel will price 4 at $19.50 and another 4 at $20.50, meaning you end up paying $20.50. You pay 50 additional cents for this 'deal'. Soon Jewel switch to digital price tags and have a surge fee on popular items. Just watch.

  This store is pathetic. Let me tell you how... For starters, you're lucky to ever catch a register with an actual person ringing you out, for it is almost, always only the self checkout registers available. Meanwhile, there is almost, always at least 2-3 staff members just hanging out, who only aim to help you assisting with the self checkout. Why can't there be more staff operated registers available? Also, the other day I went to purchase some balloons from the party desk. Unsurprisingly there was nobody there, so I had to go to customer service to ask. They told me someone would be there to help me shortly. I waited another 10-15min with no help in sight before going to ask again. I was then simply told the person that was supposed to be working there was out for the day. The young lady who told me that just looked at me afterward like that was just that. Nothing more to say. I just gave her a thumbs up and left. I dont know if its poor training, lack of awareness, or whatever, but I will avoid going back to this Jewel as much as possible because of how challenging and inconvenient shopping there has become. 0 stars if I could rate that for them.

  I love this Jewel and I know my way around. It can be pricey, but catch items on sale and you can't go wrong.

  I’ve been shopping at Jewel my whole life, but I had horrible customer service at the Deli in the Zion, IL location. I always order 8-piece chicken with only wings and legs, and every other Jewel accommodates this with no issue. When I asked for it at this deli, the employee was extremely rude. She asked, “Which one do you go to?” I told her all the other Jewels in Waukegan. She just said, “Exactly,” and refused to help. I left without ordering and called the manager. I will not be ordering chicken from this location again.
