  I swear, the worst jewel I've ever been to in my life. Always out of sale items. Staff that doesn't want to help. Just a bad place. Take the extra 5 minutes to drive to the gurnee one EDIT: ok it's just one dude who is super unhelpful, everyone else is cool. He knows who he is

  This store does NOT have consistent hrs or policies of any kind. Just went in 30 min ago (7:30) and was left standing at the counter while 2 employees ignored me to go about their business. When i asked if i could get some cheese one of them said they're closed. I said this early? And he said everyday at 6:30. That's bs. I've shopped here later than this and was served with several other ppl. This website says they close at 9. Prior, i've asked for thin sliced cheese and get mixed responses. The younger kids will do an amazing job but most of the older folk will just tell me their blades need to be sharper so they cant. I completely understand that they may be tired or otherwise incapable of slicing thin cheese but why cant they simply ask another employee for help? I want to be understanding of ppl but i'd also like this store to provide what they offer, especially for the prices! Ask for shaved ham? They cut it the usual thickness and then just tear it up in front of me like that's completely acceptable. I try to explain what shaved ham is and they lose their mind! They're telling me this is how jewel does it but i know that's not true, it's not like i dont visit other jewel oscos. Get it together! Complete chaos here. Shop literally anywhere else.

  How y'all claim to be hiring, have all the information on the new hire, have a person go through all of that & then say oh I didn't fully read your information? How when u the hiring manager, who read it then? Huh, workers the way that Exiting door opened & slammed against the rails & y'all prices y'all would think that y'all would be more focused on that then making people waste their time. & it's ok for people to panhandle outside as soon as u exit? Make everything make sense not just what you all want to make sense. & the way y'all bread be looking & feeling ugh.

  I saw a front end clerk, pick up fruit from a cart with her bare hands and put it back in the mixed fruit container. A second clerk then asked in Spanish, "what's wrong with the fruit" as she placed the do not sell stickers on it. If I did not talk to the Assistant Manager, that clerk would have put the "contaminated" fruit back in the cooler up front to sell. Gross! I have also witnessed in the hot bar the clerks throw new cooked product on old product. It is like they do not understand cross contamination and bacteria growth. It is a disgusting store!

  unfortunately i was not satisfied with today’s customer service, went to get some yard waste collection stickers at 8:40ish pm when i had asked an associate what time they close n they said 9 when the hours on the sheet said 10. continued to ask if they can sell me some when an employee said they wouldn’t be able to due to the fact that they already had closed, it was not 9 yet and they had already closed so they didn’t bother to sell me the stickers, i understand if i got there at 9 but there was still 15 minutes tho i don’t understand if they closed cause they needed to or because they just felt like it.
