  We love Portillo's, no they easy to describe it. The Italian beef are amazing. The beef and the gravy make the sandwich but the roll is the star. Crispy crinkle cut fries are the perfect companion. The staff are already sore friendly and helpful, cute rhymes when your order is ready is fun. The decor varies among the restaurants we have been to, but they are always fun and nostalgic. We stop in whenever we find one, I am so sad there is no Portillo's in S IL, I am sure it would do very well...so not sure why we are not getting Portillo love down here.

  Not sure who’s in charge of this place but they seem to have.l completely given up. After placing an order for two shakes we waited patiently then noticed our order number disappeared from the board. We walked up to ask if it was ready and the young lady said she thought they called it. Then must have realized she missed the ticket and never started our order. I would have been annoyed but she seemed to be the only person behind the counter working. At least 6 others back there were just aimlessly walking around talking to each other. One girl was talking on the phone the entire time we were there. She even took an order from the window, made drinks and impressively dropped an order of fries into the fryer, phone in had the ENTIRE time. Honestly it was remarkable, we couldn’t look away. Once our order was done we walked to get straws. All dispensers were empty. After walking in circles I finally just grabbed one from behind the counter. The place was a mess.

  Me and my family stopped off after a long roadtrip and let’s just say this was about the BEST service I’ve had in a long time. My toddlers were antsy and Michelle ran over with coloring pages and crayons without hesitation and brought over our high chairs. Constantly checked in and made sure we had everything we could possibly need or want. I will 100 percent stop back to this location whenever we are back in town. Food came out fresh and hot..and amazing portions! The cheese sauce is a MUST!! So yummy and filling.

  i went to this place with my friends, and we saw two seemingly teenaged workers fighting. a girl and a guy, who i’m assuming were dating. the guy was pushing the girl around and screaming at her. the management did nothing then, and when the girl walked off crying!! literally leaving the store, or even when the guy chased after her, they still didn’t even raise an eyebrow. the guy was confronted about it, and ran inside, grabbed a KNIFE and was threatening to stab those who confronted him. again, even THEN the manager didn’t do a single thing, not one worker seemed to care that a teenage girl was trying to wrestle a knife out of her abusive boyfriends hands. it was terrifying, someone needs to do something.

  I've been very disappointed with the Springfield Portillos the last several times I've been there. I've been to many other Portillos and the are always hopping, and have a very organized system. There seems to be a total lack of coordination and efficiency in getting orders made and served timely. I'm sure managing a Portillos is high stress, but there seems to be a total lack of training and adhering to the Portillos template that I've seen elsewhere. Recently the burgers are dry and the wait times are inexcusable. I still love their food choices and I can tolerate the high prices, but I don't enjoy getting mad, while waiting 20 minutes with only one order going out when the place is packed. Please bring in Corporate management and train the management and crew, and measure the wait times from placing an order to receiving the food, it has to be taking 3-4 times longer than the business model would call for.
