    Please, please listen to the other reviews and drive out of your way to a different location. It has to be a requirement for you to hate your life and not want to work in order to be an employee here. I've never seen a group of more miserable people. Which means it starts with managment. The place is so gross- tables are always nasty, drink area looks awful, and don't you dare ask for a little bit more of a vegetable or anything (teeny tiny portions) because they will scratch your eyes right out.

    I absolutely regret giving the South Elgin Chipotle another chance. Every time I go there, it's a disappointing experience, and tonight was no exception. The restaurant was dirty and clearly not being maintained during a busy dinner rush. There appeared to be only one employee actually working the food line and handling both stations while the cashier stood by watching. Meanwhile, another team member was in the back talking with who appeared to be the manager—a short blonde-haired lady. The other team member was eating a burrito while the restaurant was getting increasingly busy. When we got home, our queso container hadn't been sealed properly and had exploded all over the rest of our food. To make matters worse, the food was cold, even though I live only five minutes away from this location. The steak was absolutely terrible—so bad that I couldn't even eat it. The chips were got were nasty and over cooked (like brown). My husband and I usually go to the Chipotle near I-90 in Elgin and have much better experiences there. I thought I'd give the South Elgin location one more shot, but that was a mistake. Never again. This location consistently lacks cleanliness, customer service, and quality control. Based on my experiences, management needs to take a serious look at what's happening here. Customers deserve better than cold food, poor service, and a restaurant that feels neglected.

    Not even a full scoop of meat, service was so slow our rice and beans were cold by the time we sat down. No chips how do they run out of chips. The tables were dirty, no napkins and we understand a lunch rush but cleanliness and lack of customer service have gone down hill in the last 5 months. We will drive to St Charles location now on.

    I’m really disappointed with this Chipotle location. Every time we place a mobile pickup order, our bowls come with barely any food. The portions are extremely inconsistent — very little chicken, barely any rice, and the bowls look half empty compared to what you get ordering in person. For the price we pay, this is unacceptable. Mobile orders should receive the same quality and portions as in-store orders. This keeps happening over and over, and it’s frustrating feeling like we’re not getting what we paid for. Please do better with portion consistency and quality control for pickup orders.

    I am genuinely horrified by the experience my family had at this Chipotle location. Nearly every part of our order was either incorrect, missing, or carelessly thrown together. The queso blanco we ordered was replaced with nothing but a plain cup of sour cream. We were also supposed to receive corn and beans on the side, yet no sides were included at all. To make matters worse, my quesadilla arrived in an almost empty container with no barbacoa inside whatsoever — despite that being the meat we specifically ordered. But the most serious and unacceptable mistake was that my son’s barbacoa burrito bowl was replaced with chicken without our knowledge. My son is deathly allergic to chicken. This was not a minor inconvenience or simple mix-up. This level of negligence could have caused a life-threatening anaphylactic reaction had I not caught it in time. As a parent, there are very few things more terrifying than realizing your child was moments away from a severe medical emergency because basic food safety and allergy protocols were ignored. Food allergies are not preferences. They are serious medical conditions that restaurants have a responsibility to handle with extreme care. I have never experienced something this careless at any Chipotle before, and it is deeply upsetting knowing how catastrophic the outcome could have been. I sincerely hope management takes this incident seriously before another family experiences something even worse.
