Phyllis was the server we needed after a long road trip and being completely hangry for a Chicago deep dish experience. Full of character and charm, checking on us and sensing our every need, plus we loved her colorful commentary that made us feel like we had talked to a old friend. The Chicago Classic was full of tomato goodness and the ooey gooey mozzarella pull is what you want out of this particular pizza genre. No wait on an extremely busy Saturday night, greeted by a friendly host and lively atmosphere. This is my second time coming here (once before on a previous trip), and still equally worth the stop.

Ok… so I’ve been to Chi-town before, and I’ve had the deep dish pizza, but BAAAAABBBBYYY! That Giradono’s is torch! Go there. Monica was so amazing! She had us rollin! And so helpful. We even had a show and got photos take while we waited. The atmosphere was so nice. We had an awesome time. Now for the pizza, good lawd have mercy. The pizza had soooooo much flavor. I was soooo happy my toes was twittling. Happy we choose this place. We came from Maryland to Chi-town and I have not been disappointed!

Talk about a classic case of how a poorly managed restaurant can ruin an experience even with excellent food! I will do my best to keep this short: we walked in and placed in one side of the restaurant that was hot and cramped. There was zero airflow due to an odd awning over the table. We asked to move. The dining room was slammed with tables literally on top of one another. The entire half of the restaurant was open yet closed off. I asked why and they said it was cleaned after a private party. So, why not open it back up to make the other patrons happy? Mistake #1. The speakers were cranked loud to add to the horrific noise from all the bodies. Drinks slow to arrive. Appetizers come staggered. My boys ordered entrees, they came out with the apps. They eat without the rest of the table. We wait for our deep dish. Yes, I know it takes up to 45 minutes; however, we get close to an hour. Refills slow. The server was sweating. Poor schedule. I asked. They sent servers home after the party in the other half of the restaurant. Another mistake. Labor cuts. Other patrons showing disdain waiting for checks and food. Where is the manager? Not managing. I went to look for him (and express my grievances) so I can obtain my check since 13 minutes went by looking for it. I finally received it—oh, and my favorite part is a 3% restaurant fee. I asked to have it removed. Another seven minutes. My loyalty app discount was scanned then it came off the bill again. Another flub. It was one thing after another. Manager? No where to be found. The sever had to ask him to remove the fee and add the discount. The frustrating thing is nobody in the once seemed to care about the customers except the server. The manager should of been running the food since all of it was on the server. This would have helped facilitate the flow and allow for some comfort since many were getting aggravated. Another mistake. It was just a pooshow overall albeit with outstanding food. My worry is this is the future of dining at Giordano’s. I hope this is a one-off. My family have been patrons of Giordano’s for over 25 years. This, by far, was the worst I’ve ever seen a pizza place managed. Stay away from the Higgins Street location near ORD. Note: if you ask, no discount. No dessert. Nothing. And tbh, that is fine. What I would have liked is a discussion and an apology for the lack of service and just terrible atmosphere.

I've been to Giordano's before, but this was by far the best experience I've had! The food was just as amazing as always, but what really made this visit stand out was our waitress, Brittany. Brittany was absolutely fantastic. She never walked past our table without checking to see if we needed anything, and she was genuinely kind, friendly, and attentive throughout our meal. We were on a road trip and wanted to bring a few frozen pizzas home with us, and she went above and beyond by making sure we had enough insulated bags to keep them cold for the trip. It's employees like Brittany who turn a great meal into an unforgettable experience. Thank you for making the perfect ending to our road trip!

We drove all the way from New Jersey to try this place based on its reputation, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. We ordered two pizzas—one gluten-free and one deep-dish. Neither tasted as good as we expected. It may have just been this location, but the food didn’t live up to the hype. The bigger issue was the service. We were charged more than what had been communicated. When we politely mentioned the pricing discrepancy, the manager immediately became defensive and repeatedly said, “No, that’s how it works,” instead of acknowledging that the communication may not have been clear. We didn’t even complain about the quality of the pizzas or ask for a replacement, despite not enjoying them. Seeing the manager argue over just a few dollars rather than handling the situation professionally was disappointing. We expected much better customer service, especially after making a special trip from New Jersey. Unfortunately, this experience didn’t live up to the restaurant’s reputation.
