My husband already left a review, but I was there too and wanted to add my perspective. The issue was not whether gloves are required. The issue was watching an employee reopen a prepared burger and handle the food before serving it. That made us uncomfortable enough to ask for it to be remade. What surprised me most was the owner's response. Instead of acknowledging the concern, the response focused on disputing the temperature, fly count, and glove policy. Regardless of those points, our concern was the food handling we personally observed.I understand every business gets unfair reviews sometimes, but dismissing customer concerns publicly isn't a great look.
The most memorable part of the visit at this Dairy Queen grill and chill on elevator rd in Roscoe wasn't the temperature or the flies. It was watching a prepared burger get reopened and handled before being served, and then seeing the owner's response focus on conducting a fly census and defending the thermostat instead of addressing the actual concern. Disappointing and bad customer service on the owners end .

Despite it being 90⁰ in there and the 150 flies i had to fight for a bite of my burger and the kid not wearing gloves the food didnt taste so bad (after I had them remake everything with gloves on) lol
I don’t normally complain, especially about a fast food place where my expectations aren’t exactly super high to begin with, but this was probably one of the top 10 most disgusting places I’ve ever ordered from.
There were stains all over the walls, overflowing trash cans, and the bathroom just felt dirty. On top of that, I was given the wrong thing, and when I asked to have it changed, I got attitude from the young worker behind the counter. I’m not asking for five-star service at Dairy Queen, but I at least expect basic cleanliness and decent customer service.
Honestly, after seeing the condition of this place, I can understand why there have supposedly been reports about a rat in the fryer. Obviously, I can’t confirm whether that actually happened, but based on how dirty the restaurant felt, it definitely didn’t make me feel any better about eating there.
Overall, a pretty terrible experience, especially considering I wasn’t expecting much to begin with. This location seriously needs some attention when it comes to cleanliness and customer service.
I’m not mad just disappointed…
The staff were very kind! Can’t say the same for who I can only assume is the owner. The few times I’ve visited he has often scolded these kids while they are doing their job. I understand they have standards to keep up, but that doesn’t call for being rude to them in front of customers while they are clearly busy! Had a full drive-thru and a decent amount of people inside when I came in last week.

My boyfriend brought me lunch on a Sunday. It took him less than 10 minutes to bring it to me. Chicken strips were way over cooked, the gravy had the consistency of water and the fries were barely warm and the toast was soggy. He also got the chicken strips but they were dipped in a sauce and his meal was exactly the same. Needless to say we were really disappointed. He went there at 2:30 pm on a Sunday.
