  This was my first eating here. I found them randomly. We are critical of BBQ being from the South but our food was delicious!!! Next our service was top tier which is why I wanted to do this review. I didn’t take a picture of my food since I wasn’t expecting to do a review.

  Baby Back Blues BBQ is a great local spot for authentic, slow-smoked BBQ. The brisket is tender and flavorful, the ribs are meaty and smoky, and the pulled pork is absolutely delicious. They also have a great selection of sides, especially the mac and cheese, cornbread, green beans, and coleslaw. The portions are generous, the food is fresh, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. I also appreciate that they offer takeout, delivery, and catering, which makes it a convenient choice whether you’re grabbing dinner or feeding a group. If you’re craving good, hearty BBQ in Plainfield, Baby Back Blues is definitely worth a try.

  I ordered pulled pork and mild sausage for my son's 40th birthday party because they're his favorites from Baby Back Blues. Everyone who came to the party enjoyed the food very much and we had some leftovers for the next day! Best BBQ in town!! Delicious!

  I ordered the small beef brisket sandwich, cucumber salad, corn bread, corn on the cob and a drink and it was all so delicious, really worth it- the portions are good and the mild bbq sauce was on point. I’ll definitely be returning soon to try something else.

  My family and I have loved and supported Baby Back Blues on and off for the last 20 years since we moved to the area in 2005. They have been one of my top favorites for many years. My husband and I supported them quite a bit throughout the pandemic as well, by ordering carry out rather frequently because we loved them so much and wanted to support a small business we loved during that time. We haven’t ordered from here a lot over the last couple of years, and for the first time in a while tonight, we had a taste for their food. We both ordered 2 rib platters, and we both opted for the two sides, with a drink, and added on two pieces of cornbread. My husband got the mac and cheese and mashed for his sides, and I got the coleslaw and mashed as my sides. After placing the order online, it said ETA would be 30 minutes. We live about 15 minutes away, so my husband left about 15 minutes after placing the order to get there with enough time. My husband arrived at 5:45 and was told that the order wouldn’t be ready for another 30 minutes because they got slammed with orders. Which, is understandable especially on a Friday night. However, we live 15 minutes away, so it would have been nice to get a phone call that they were behind, or have the ETA on the website updated to show a longer wait time upon ordering. My husband wasn’t going to come home just to turn around and go back, so he ended up waiting in his car. My husband got back home with our order around 6:30 and when we sat down to eat, we realized we didn’t get our two pieces of cornbread we paid extra for. Which, we weren’t going to make a big deal of, it is what it is. Then, we opened our ribs and they were so fatty and slimy, they were practically inedible. The spots that weren’t super fatty were tender, moist, and delicious; but there wasn’t a lot of meat that wasn’t fatty and slimy so we ended up throwing away most of our rib plates. I expect some fat on ribs, but this was mostly all fat which to me is unacceptable. My husband is not turned off by much when it comes to food, he will eat most of anything because he doesn’t like to be wasteful; so for him to throw away a plate of food that he barely ate, is a big deal. The mashed potatoes were grainy and thin, and were not fluffy at all. The only good part of the meal for me, was the coleslaw. It was delicious. For the lack of quality of food and forgotten corn bread, this was not worth the $55 and an extra 30 minute wait. This was an extremely disappointing meal. Now, I do want to give the benefit of the doubt that it could have just been an off night, and we don’t necessarily intend to write off a small business that we have loved for many, many, years because of one bad night; but I also wouldn’t be eager to go back anytime soon. I do wish them the best and hope next time we dine there, whenever that might be, that the quality is better because this is definitely not the quality we expect and know they can produce. I just wanted to share our experience so that they can take this all into consideration to hopefully make improvements in the future.
