My husband and I had a really great first experience at Devon last night! Everything from start to finish was delicious, and prepared perfectly! We took advantage of the happy hour oyster and wine selections that are a great value. (available until 7:00!) Our server, Joshua was attentive, knowledgeable, personable and provided excellent recommendations (get the green beans as a side). He didn’t rush us and was always available when needed. I already told two friends about our wonderful dinner and they were eager to hear about it as both knew of the restaurant but had never been. We’ll definitely be back to enjoy downtown quality food and service close to home!

The atmosphere was great, and the customer service was excellent! The espresso martini was the star of the show—absolutely delicious and definitely a highlight of my visit. 🍸 I also ordered the Caesar salad, which was a nice addition to the meal. The biscuits they served reminded me of Red Lobster’s Cheddar Bay Biscuits at first glance. The texture was similar, but the flavor was different. They were good and a nice touch to the dining experience. The miso-glazed sea bass was perfectly cooked, as were the vegetables. The glaze was a little sweeter than I prefer, but the fish itself was prepared beautifully. The biggest disappointment was the gumbo. I expected a hearty, rich, Southern, New Orleans-inspired gumbo, but what I received was more like a soup. It just didn’t deliver the depth and heartiness I associate with a good gumbo. Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere, the excellent service, and most of my meal. The sea bass was cooked to perfection, and that espresso martini deserves a special mention! I’m giving Devon Seafood + Steak four stars for a good dining experience, with a little room for improvement on the gumbo.
