I've been a customer for years, and today, while I was waiting for my app-ordered food, an employee came out and kicked me out, telling me I couldn't be there. If you don't want people to disrespect you, please, McDonald's, teach your employees how to behave and respect customers. You don't need people like that working for you. And next time the same person serves me, I'll be asking for a refund and you'll get your food back.

For years, I have referred, at times somewhat affectionately, to this McDonald's as the "McDonald's from Heck". Ever since the pandemic at least, it would be hard to find a McDonald's anywhere that is so chronically short-staffed and dysfunctional. There's the enshitification of fast food generally, and then there's THIS.
There is only one "pro" to this location, and that is the location itself, just five minutes from where I live in Lombard. Even so, the drive-through wait lines are so bad, so consistently, that it's not even hyperbole to suggest that I could go to the McDonald's at Yorktown Mall instead, pick-up my order, and make it back in about the same time as waiting for 300 Roosevelt/"McDonald's from Heck". Honestly, it's almost funny! I'm sure that the tiny staff is just stretched incredibly thin, but sometimes, while waiting in the excruciatingly long lines, I like to invent imaginary scenarios of "what could they possibly be doing in there?" just to pass the time.
I rarely go in the actual restaurant, just to be clear. The one and only time that I requested delivery to curb they straight-up forgot my order entirely, and I had to go in and ask for a manager, who put my name in a black book to get a free meal or something (an offer that I never redeemed), so I don't do that, either. But as someone who, foolishly enough, uses this drive-through fairly regularly, you didn't just come at a bad time: It's ALWAYS slow. It's slow when it's busy, and it's slow when traffic is slow; it's slow morning, noon, and night.
Tonight has to be one of the best horror stories. It was 10:45 pm on a Saturday, so I would expect that service would be, if anything, marginally worse, even by 300 Roosevelt standards. Even so, all I ordered was a large Coke, and I ordered ahead on the McDonald's app. I kid you not that after waiting a grueling 15 minutes in the drive-through with just two cars in front of me and being handed a soggy Coke and a significantly soggy straw, I made it home, took a sip, and realized, contrary to my order, that it was a DIET.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why I call it the "McDonald's from Heck".
