  Serving partially raw flame broiled burgers on Friday 5/8/26. Terrible attitude of staff manager on compensating for Drive trip to return food at $5.29/gal.

  I wanted a slice of there chocolate cake so I drove 30 minutes to this location within the last hour before closing to end up with nothing. The young lady working the drive thru mentioned they had no slices left only a whole cake. I asked if that cake could be sliced. She went to ask the manager named Shelly who says they didnt have any slices left and that she had no one to slice a new cake. I said your the manager right so your telling me you can't slice it. My only option she said was to buy the whole cake for 40 dollars. So My thoughts are if your open, your open. If a customer wants fries will you not open a new bag because your one hour to close. If you run out of something and have no more that's understandable but whatever is on the menu if you have it available it needs to be sold until the doors close. Very poor customer service from Shelly very poor.

  Waited 30 minutes to get served and had to request a refund. No apologies from the staff for this poor excuse for customer service! Never ever will I go there!! Completely a waste of my time!!

  I don't do this ever but I figured just giving a heads up to the people on Google review might be a good idea. Food is amazing, atmosphere is also amazing (love the 70s theme this Portillos has) I went to this Portillos on my way back out of Chicago heading to the Airport. I always love the consistent food and atmosphere. However, this venture started when my order was placed at 3:02pm. I waited like a good samaritan. After roughly 20 minutes and seeing other people who ordered after me get their food, I did what any sensible person would do and I asked the nice employee what the status of my order was and gave her the order number. She advised the order is being made. I stood by the counter and waited about 10 minutes and kept noticing other orders placed after me being called and delivered. I politely asked another employee what the status of my order was. He advised he is sorry and that the order was never made. I understood as this can happen with ordering systems at resutrants and waited another 10 minutes. I would have to eat the food on the way back to the Airport but that was fine with me. I then asked the initial employee if there is any food ready for order and she advised yes but they were waiting on the milk shake I ordered. I was able to get the food but since I was time limited I had to leave my poor milkshake behind. Usually my luck is on the bad side when it comes to ordering food, goods, and services from pretty much any and all businesses in general. But for a chain like Portillos to seemingly fumble the ball more than once with me, I decided to post this review to let whoever reads Google reviews before going to restaurants know that this Portillos might just not be the one for you. It should be noted that my order was 3 hot dogs and a regular sized milkshake.

  I want to give credit to the manager Rico!!! I came in 2nd week of April (late post but it was April). I Went through drive thru & it was busy. Rico was moving orders left & right with an amazing smile & attitude. I was watching him & I told him “I would’ve been checked out.” Meaning, had I had that workload. He was interacting w/customers & directing the staff ‘as a model manager,’ correcting orders & responding fast! Just watching the car traffic & orders was mentally draining, no pun. I really give credit to him because he was moving the lines with enthusiasm & speed plus a SMILE.
