  I grew up going to dairy Queen but the fast food companies use too many chemicals ingredients I've stopped eating at fast foods only maybe if their mouths are made from real milk and ice cream because malts from McDonald's Burger King Wendy's all those places have chemicals in them I would stay away from fast foods if you don't want to get cancer when you get old

  I get that the free cone is free. But why advertise it as “ALL DAY” if they cut it off at 5PM. People have work and kids have school. So it makes sense if people would go after that. It also says “While supplies last”, but there was obviously enough soft serve since they were still selling it after. The kids working were kind though, this review is not towards them but to whoever decided to pull this move.

  This store pulled a blatant bait and switch. Dairy queen advertised a promotion that was ALL DAY and the store decided it would arbitrarily end it at 5pm, conveniently right before most families finish their dinner and head out for ice cream. Our family can buy ice cream, so thats not the issue, it is that my kids found the promotion and were very excited to “treat us” to ice cream only to be disappointed by this owners choice to bait and switch, like many others who were bait and switched we stayed and purchased ice cream, however at least 40 other people turned around and left just in the 15 minutes we were there for whatever reasons they had, but it was quite unenjoyable seeing kids who were pumped for ice cream get completely let down by this locations choice. Just to sanity check, we called other area dairy queens, this was the only one instituting this practice. We will not be going back to this location, there are plenty of family owned places and franchises locally (check out cold stone on the other end of gurnee or shirls in waukegan if you want great service) and we hope that DQ corp will review this business practice of this franchise owner. If you are the owner don’t bother commenting or reaching out to somehow try to save face, wont do you any good, because we all know “IT” didn't end at 5, YOU choose to end it at 5 in a greedy attempt to make more money from this bait and switch. Shame on you.

  Shame on the owners here! Ending the free cone day at 5 pm (when most people get off of work!). What should be a nice treat for the community turns into a cash grab for ownership! Most people stayed and bought ice cream cause they drove all the way out here! Not a good look!

  They refuse to give a free cone when they post on social media and everywhere that today you can come and have it. Even if you buy something (kids where exited to come and get it for free) just if you don't going to participate on this post it before we waist time coming with kids. Thank you
