I am not one to go out to eat much these days, but sometimes you want fast food and Taco Bell hits the spot. This one, in particular, is very nice; the employees are always pleasant at the window/speaker, and dining inside. I would say I've been to this establishment about four times now. Always clean, always friendly.
My major issue the last few times though, the tortillas don't seem to be actually cooked. I'm no Taco Bell expert by any means, but I thought at one time there was a press that made the gorditas a little bit golden brown? So they aren't so overly floury and pasty tasting. When I bite into them, it's ice cold. This is the second time I've thrown the food into a skillet with some oil spray to cook it. I don't actually mind, it tastes really good this way.
But when did this shortcut happen and why? I looked up the menu online and the site mentions "warm". It's not toasted at all. It's pretty gross this way.
Also, the burritos are as ice cold as the lettuce and tomatoes thrown on top.
And is it me, or did the franchise spice up the meat? Not the end of the world, but the family noticed.
I want to stress that I gave the service all stars because usually everyone is so nice, even when they're busy. It's a stressful job, and they deserve that much.
But I'm not sure why the food isn't completely cooked. Let's blame corporate for this one.
