  I've given Deerfield Illinois Chipotle more chances than I can count, and somehow every visit is worse than the last. This location has been a complete disaster for a long time, and it's hard to understand how it continues to operate this way. The restaurant is consistently filthy, and the service is among the worst I've ever experienced. The staff routinely stands around talking while customers wait, and when you walk in they act like you're inconveniencing them by simply placing an order. The level of rudeness from the employees is honestly shocking. The food availability is just as bad. They're constantly out of major menu items, even in the middle of the afternoon. On my most recent visit, they were out of steak at 4:46 PM and told me they weren't making any more. I've also been told for weeks that they can't make burritos because the tortilla machine is "broken." At this point, it feels like there's always some excuse for why they can't serve the food that's actually on the menu. Furthermore, on another visit 7:30PM on a weekend and Deerfield Illinois Chipotle closed at 10PM, the only meat they had left was chicken, they told us they were not making anymore meat, they had already cleaned and closed the grill! My child decided to ride their bike up there to get dinner early evening 6:15 PM and there was a sign on the door that said ONLINE ORDERS ONLY, and the doors were locked and three employees were sitting at a table playing on their cell phones and laughing and having a good times not working. If you order online, good luck. My to-go orders have been messed up repeatedly. When I finally complained to the assistant manager, I was completely brushed off. Instead of taking ownership or trying to resolve the issue, he simply handed me the general manager's business card and sent me on my way. That response perfectly sums up how this store is run. This isn't a one-time bad experience—it's a pattern. The lack of customer service, poor management, constant shortages, and overall condition of the restaurant have made this easily the worst Chipotle I've ever visited. I am shocked they have not had multiple visits from the health department! Corporate needs to step in immediately. This location doesn't need minor improvements—it needs a complete overhaul. Replace the entire management team and replace the staff. Bring in an experienced turnaround team and keep them there for as long as it takes—six months, a year, whatever is necessary—to teach this store how to operate properly and treat customers with basic respect. Why is Chipotle Corporate allowing their store to continue this way? Is there no product because of employee theft, are they taking home to cook for their families or because they have hired the laziest, most rude and disrespectful, entitled employees known to man? Or is it both? I am well travelled and Chipotle is always my go to. I have visited many and Deerfield Illinois Chipotle is by far the worst Chipotle in the USA! It is as if the Chipotle Deerfield is INTENTIONALLY being run into the ground it is SO BAD! I've already filed a complaint with customer service because this location is completely unacceptable and has been for a long time. Until something changes, I won't be coming back, and I can't recommend anyone else waste their time or money here either.

  I don’t think I have ever been to a restaurant where the staff is basically hostile, providing the bare minimum in terms of both service and the food product. The people seem as if they hat working there and any ask at all gets a seemingly punitive “that will cost extra”. As example, I had to order xtra chicken because there were only 6 little pieces in the “regular version” of my burrito. They throw the food together like everything was an inconvenience and made me like they really wished I wouldn’t bother them while they listened to music in the back.

  I’ve been a loyal Chipotle customer for years, having visited the same location multiple times. However, I’m writing to express my disappointment with the current state of this particular Chipotle, which is, without exaggeration, the worst I’ve ever experienced. The most pressing issue is safety. During my visits, I’ve witnessed staff actively working in the dining area during open hours. They’ve been engaged in tasks such as working on kitchen equipment and assembling chairs using power drills, all while customers are seated and enjoying their meals. This hazardous situation is exacerbated by the absence of caution tape or any barrier separating the work area from the dining space. Furthermore, a significant portion of the seating area is being used for storage. Kitchen equipment, brand-new equipment still in its packaging, and tables are haphazardly placed in the middle of the dining area, obstructing the flow of customers. To make matters worse, the tables that are usable are frequently dirty. Another concerning issue is the food preparation process. The staff assembling orders often appear untrained and unsure of their tasks. I’m not writing this to demand a free meal. This location urgently needs a thorough operational review and, frankly, new management. Someone needs to take immediate action to rectify these problems.
