  It's very sad and disappointing to see this iconic sandwich spot decline to its current state. I was here in 1979 during its grand opening with my Boy Scout troop until I left for the military in 1988. Since then, I've returned multiple times and, sadly, have watched its steady decline from its peak. We walked in today and were taken aback by what was once a grandiose sub sandwich shop that could compete with other historic sandwich shops in the area and in Chicago. Now it stands as a dilapidated, diminished piece of history. As I looked around, about to order the Unbeatable sub sandwich, I heard a voice in my head and decided to leave the establishment.

  Ok so first time here.I ordered a salad no ham turkey.I will say that it was super lack luster.I think salads should be colorful vibrant etc.It was sandwich lettuce which ok that’s fine I would liked to seen dark green leafy leaves mixed or on top.Tomatoes weren’t fresh.The dressing was good although I did not want ranch lol that’s what I received.I have 4 stars because I think business deserves opportunity and although this may work for them it sells it can definitely be improved.I pay for connivence service and quality.It cost too much to eat out and get lack luster ok food .I will come back and try the sandwich if in the area to see if there’s a difference
