Indulge at Travelle for an elevated brunch experience located at the Langham Chicago on the second level. Guests will enjoy high-end farm-to-table ingredients along with stunning Chicago views. This isn’t your typical weekend breakfast. We started with fresh fruit along with yogurt & honey. The house baked pastries are a must especially the flaky buttery croissants, as well as the mango kouign amann & banana walnut muffin. There were so many incredible choices on the menu. I was impressed with the edamame hummus with miso braised mushroom & smoked sesame seeds. It’s a flavor explosion. The chips & dip reached another level with its whipped citrus crème fraiche, smoked trout roe & chive. I’m officially addicted to the house made chips. The seafood choices were amazing. The yellowtail tuna crudo with white ponzu, sake, miso, serrano, argan oil, amaranth & furikake delivered layers of flavor. I thought the citrus poached shrimp were perfection. I loved the creative curried aioli. The presentation of the roasted oysters with brown butter garlic spinach, french mornay & bacon onion jam was a show stopper. Breakfast staples included a multigrain waffle with caramelized banana & candied pecans, as well as cinnamon French toast with raspberry coulis & whipped cream were excellent. The stone fruit manzanilla with charred onion, heirloom tomato & orange vinaigrette was fabulous. The Calabrian & five spice wings were delicious along with the house-made ranch topped with creamy blue cheese hit the spot. For mains, the prime beef double stack with Mahón cheese, umami slaw, sunny side egg & five spice glazed pork belly was rich & decadent. The poached Maine lobster benedict with sautéed spinach, cherry tomato & truffle hollandaise elevated a classic. My Sicilian heart loved the beautiful sauce of the brown butter clam linguini with pancetta & roasted sourdough. We also were able to try some new cocktails including the banana noir espresso martini made with banana bread infused Bacardi rum along with the Smashing Pumpkins made with Aguasol reposado tequila. The Travelle weekend brunch is next level and takes place Saturday & Sunday starting at noon. Diners will enjoy the creativity of the dishes along with the beautiful vibe of the restaurant.
