  Everything was SO good! Beautiful space, and the atmosphere was definitely a vibe. It’s a great spot if you’re looking for lunch for two, date night, or a small birthday group outing. The food did NOT disappoint! 🔥 The only reason I gave the service a 4 (and this is nothing against our waiter) was because of the menu situation. We were given the regular menu, but were told that everything listed wasn’t available at noon on a Saturday. They have a midday menu that’s only offered on certain days/times, so I wasn’t able to get the Salmon Melt I was actually looking forward to. 😩 I do feel like this schedule should be posted on their website and menu. They did have a larger entrée recommendation section with plenty of options and honestly… it did NOT disappoint! 🔥🔥🔥 The spaghetti is spicy, so if that’s not your thing, definitely ask about adjustments. My sis had the pot roast with zucchini 🔥 and I also tried the Hibiscus Lemonade… BABYYYY everything was 🔥🔥🔥 10/10!! Overall, such a good experience. The food, space, and vibe were all on point. I’ll definitely be back! 🙌🏾

  I visited the SFL on an early Friday evening and was seated immediately per my reservation. I thought the Uber contemporary decor was upscale and oozed sophistication. The menu included soul food with a twist. opposed to the more traditional soul food preparations so I suggest that you peruse the menu prior to booking. The food was delicious, unique and plentiful. I especially enjoyed the Catfish and spicy spaghetti. I whole heartedly recommend the SFL and I'm very pleased to have them in my neighborhood.

  I was disappointed with the food. I ordered the smothered chicken with a pound cake. Smothered chicken is usually Chicken parts, legs, thigh, wing and or breast This was salty chicken tenders over rice with gravy. The pound cake was deep fried on top of red beans. My server, he was amazing!

  Tiffany was an absolute superstar hostess! She took the time to walk me through the menu and shared mouth-watering details about the dishes I was curious about, like the incredible Caribbean BBQ fish. Paired with the flavorful rice and beans and perfectly cooked cabbage, it was an absolute culinary triumph! I am already looking forward to my next visit—don't miss out on this gem!

  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a great experience at The Soul Lounge. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. Every dish we ordered was well-seasoned and worth the visit. Thank you, Ms. Burrell and everyone at The Soul Lounge, for making my Chicago experience unforgettable. I truly appreciate your hospitality, professionalism. I look forward to visiting again the next time I'm in Chicago!
