The Soul Food Lounge was definitely worth checking out. The food was well-seasoned, flavorful, and the portions were generous. You’re definitely not leaving here hungry.
I tried the Catfish Étouffée and Braised Pot Roast, and both were excellent. The pot roast was tender and packed with flavor, while the Catfish Étouffée was easily one of the highlights of the meal.
I also really enjoyed the atmosphere. They had classic R&B and jazz playing throughout the restaurant, which gave the space a relaxed, grown, soulful vibe that complemented the food perfectly.
The Soul Food Lounge isn’t new to Chicago, but it still feels like a hidden gem that more locals should know about. Great food, substantial portions, good music, and an atmosphere that makes you want to sit back and enjoy yourself.
Definitely a Chicago soul food spot worth checking out.

Pleasant surprise. Everything we had was super flavorful. Portions weren't all that, but the quality and taste was on point..

The food here has to be what the food in Heaven that's like!! Every dish I tried was AMAZING!! I dined in with my husband and 12 of our closest friends of over 30 years. I had the Fire Maple Glazed Chicken with Crispy Potatoes and Grilled Pound Cake.

The food was 🔥! Service was amazing too! Our server was also the person who made the grilled pound cake and it was delicious 🤤
Brought my mother here for mother's day and the Soul Food Lounge definitely didn't disappoint us! The food was beyond amazing, the service was excellent, and the prices were good considering the amount of food that was received. The only this is that the restaurant was fairly small and we had to wait past our reservation time for our table. However, the food and the service made up for the wait!
