Saw a review on IG and decided to go, happened to be on a Wednesday when they feature Lemon Drops and Lamb Chops, which I didn't know, and it wasn't mentioned by Malik when I ordered the lambchop dish. The $30 drink was mentioned though. Overall, the food was good. Salmon and shrimp bites were good. Salmon filet burger was good (a little burnt on one side but a good size), lamp chops were requested medium came out well done, no pink in sight, sides were good, Mac and cheese, yams, cabbage (overcooked). For the types of craft cocktails I'm used to , this ain't it. No coffee beans in the expresso martini 😒

The food was amazing and the server was awesome. However the staff that seats you was not very accommodating for arriving early. We had a reservation at 4pm however our activity ended early at 2pm and we wanted to be seated earlier if possible. When we went up to the L Station we were told that they don’t take walk ins and the staff at the door even mistakenly told us to come back at 3pm instead of 4pm. Furthermore, neither when we made the reservation or on their website that I could find, told us that on Saturdays at least they are closed from 3pm-4pm to transition from brunch to dinner. Also if The L Station is very reservation exclusive they need to make that know either printed on the top of their website or printed on there door.

Overall, I would rate my experience 2/10, and the food itself 1/10. We started with the salmon bites, and they were just okay. The sauce that came with them really didn’t complement the salmon at all, so the appetizer was nothing memorable. We also ordered two Lavender Lemon Drops at $17.99 each, and unfortunately, they were disappointing as well. We weren’t asked what type of vodka we wanted, and I honestly couldn’t taste any liquor in either drink. They tasted more like basic lavender lemonade than an actual lemon drop. For almost $18 per drink, I expected a well-made cocktail where you could at least taste the alcohol. Two drinks and not even the slightest buzz for that price was crazy and definitely not worth it. For my entrée, I ordered the catfish dinner with mac and cheese and spinach. Before ordering, we specifically asked our waitress if the mac and cheese was baked, and she told us that it was. When the food arrived, the mac and cheese tasted like boxed mac and cheese with little to no seasoning. It definitely was not what I expected after being told it was baked mac and cheese. My biggest issue was the fish. I ordered catfish, but what I was served appeared to be swai. If catfish is listed on the menu, then customers should receive catfish. Serving a different type of fish while presenting it as catfish is extremely misleading and disappointing. We also ordered a meal with catfish and fried chicken. The fried chicken tasted like it had come straight out of the grease without being properly drained. When you bit into it, the main thing you tasted was grease. The yams tasted like they had been sitting or cooking in the pot for too long. Overall, the sides and entrées were very basic and lacked seasoning and flavor. Unfortunately, the atmosphere didn’t make the experience any better. I was seated right near the stairs leading to the basement, and there was a noticeable basement/musty smell in that area. The overall atmosphere just wasn’t a good vibe and made it difficult to enjoy the meal. What made the experience even more disappointing was the response from our waitress. She clearly knew that we were unhappy with our food, but there was no real attempt to ask what was wrong, offer a solution, or see if anything could be corrected. The food was simply packed up, and that was basically the end of it. When you’re paying restaurant prices—especially $17.99 for a cocktail—you expect quality, flavor, good service, and to receive what is actually advertised on the menu. Unfortunately, this experience missed the mark in every area. Food: 1/10. Overall experience: 2/10. Based on this experience, I would not return.

I visited L Station for the first time yesterday to celebrate my birthday, and after taking some time to reflect on my experience, I can honestly say I was disappointed. I arrived about 10–15 minutes before my reservation, and the hostess politely explained that my table wasn't quite ready since I was a little early. That was completely understandable, and I appreciated that I was seated right at my reservation time. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. Our server lacked any enthusiasm or welcoming attitude. There was no warm greeting or effort to make us feel like valued guests, especially considering it was my first visit and a birthday celebration. What made it even more noticeable was watching the table next to us receive the complete opposite experience. The server was energetic, attentive, and engaging with them from the moment they sat down. They may have been regulars, but every guest deserves excellent service—especially when they're paying premium prices. The food was just okay. My lamb was overcooked despite requesting it be prepared a certain way, and while the drinks looked great, they tasted watered down. Considering the automatic gratuity and the overall cost, I expected a much higher level of service and food quality. If you're looking for a quick happy hour spot after work and don't mind spending around $100, L Station may be worth checking out. However, if you're looking for a memorable dining experience or celebrating a special occasion, I'd recommend giving The Establishment next door a try instead. Sadly, this first impression wasn't enough to make me want to return.

Saw an amazing IG post about this spot & had to give them a try. It was correct - delicious!!! No it's, and, or buts. First, be sure to make reservations otherwise your wait could be o er 2hrs. Service started off great, but once the food was served, our server disappeared. Aside from that, everything was fabulous. Shrimp & salmon bites 🔥 Chicken & waffles 👍🏾 Jerk chops 😋 Mac, greens, grits 🤗 Mojito flight ❤️ Atmosphere was fabulous, but the tables are tight & tiny. All in all, I'm sure to return. Soon.
